This ordinary block, only 1200 meters long, has dozens of old buildings of nearly 100 years: churches, hospitals, schools, residences, gardens, consulates and so on. Although these old buildings have gone through more than a century of vicissitudes, they have been sinking in the long river of history, reflecting the luster and sadness of history. Its bricks and stones outline the track of Wuhan's urban development; its anecdotes reflect the changes in the history of Wuhan; its unique and famous houses record the colorful local conditions and customs of Wuhan.
Tan Hualin
Tanhualin, located in the west of Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, is adjacent to Wuchang campus of Hubei University of traditional Chinese medicine. It is located between the northern foot of Huayuan mountain and the southern foot of crab Cape (also known as Chengshan) within the city wall. It runs East-West along with the two mountains.
In history, Tanhualin refers to the east section connected with the exit of gejiaying. In 1946, the local authorities of Wuchang merged Zhengwei street and Youjia lane to the west of the exit of gejiaying into Tanhualin, whose street name has been followed up to now.
Now Tanhualin street, north of Wuchang Huayuan mountain and south of Fenghuang mountain, starts from Zhongshan Road in the East and ends at Desheng bridge in the west, with a total length of 1200 meters. It is an old street gradually formed after the expansion of Wuchang City in 1371.

Tanhualin address: Tanhualin is an old block in Liangdao street, Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. It is located in the north east of Wuchang City, between the north foot of Huayuan mountain and crab Cape in the city wall, and it runs East-West with the two mountains.
In 1946, the local authorities merged Zhengwei street and Youjia lane to the west of the exit of gejiaying with Tanhualin to the east of the exit of gejiaying, which is called Tanhualin and has been followed up to now.
It is 1.2 km long, including gejiaying, madaomen, taipingshiguan, Sanyi village, huayuanshan and crab Cape.

Renji Hospital
Western Church Hospital
It was the first hospital founded by the British Christian Church of London charities Yang Gefei and the Chinese Christian Church. It was also a well preserved hospital after modern western hospitals were introduced into Wuhan.
Renji Hospital was formerly known as London church hospital. The hospital was associated with the name of a British missionary, Yang Gefei. In 1861, the missionary built a chapel near Tan Hualin, and then opened a clinic and a private school to serve the congregation and nearby residents. Seven years later, the missionary moved the clinic and private school to tan Hualin and expanded them. In 1883, it was officially renamed Renji Hospital. The hospital building is a combination of Chinese and Western style brick and wood structure, with Renaissance style pillars and Chinese style sunken cloisters. The relief pattern of the stone arch of the annex building is also very unique.
Wenhua Academy
Wenhua Academy
Founded by the Anglican Church of America in Wuchang on October 20, 1871, it was a boys' boarding school, named wenhuilian Memorial School, Wenhua college in Chinese and Boone Memorial School in English.
In 1890, a senior high school was set up to become a six-year complete middle school. After he became president in 1901, he developed rapidly. In 1903, he added a university department and gradually developed into Wenhua University. In 1924, it was renamed Huazhong University. In 1951, the public Huazhong University was established. In 1952, the departments of national higher education were adjusted. The departments of chemistry and Chinese language of Zhonghua University were merged with private Huazhong University to establish Huazhong Normal University (Huazhong Normal University). It was named central China Normal University in 1953 and renamed central China Normal University in 1985.
Wenhua college is located at 111 Tanhualin street, Wuchang, Hubei University of traditional Chinese medicine. There are a lot of historical buildings in the school.
Christmas Hall
The building is located in No.5 building in the campus of Hubei University of traditional Chinese medicine. It was built in 1870. It is a Western-style building, and its pillars are modeled in the style of ancient Greek pillars. In 2002, the wooden floor was replaced with marble, and the three arch rolling door was replaced with square door. The building is a campus chapel built by the Christian Church of America in Wenhua University. Religious activities on the campus were stopped in 1958. Now it belongs to the provincial hospital of traditional Chinese medicine and is the Club Auditorium of the hospital.
The building is unique in Hubei Province, and is the earliest and longest used chapel in Hubei campus. During the revolution of 1911, the members of Nikko, such as Liu Jing'an, Hu Lanting and Yu Rizhang, publicized the anti Qing revolutionary thought here. In 1906, the song of the student army, composed by Zhang Tongyi and Yu Rizhang, was born here.
Wenhua Public Library (Wenhua University)
The library, located at 138-139, Tan Hua Lin, was built around 1920. It is a square, three story, brick and wood structure. It faces north from south, and the Yuejie Street faces the gate of Xia Dou Yin mansion (demolished). The building was originally the public library of Wenhua University. It is the earliest public library in Wuhan, Hubei Province. It is an excellent historical building protection unit. The existing library has become an empirical witness to the history of library development.

The building is located in the campus of Hubei University of traditional Chinese medicine. It is named after Zhai Youyou, the first president of Hubei University of traditional Chinese medicine. It was built in 1921. It is a two-story building with mixed brick and wood structure, Chinese style roof and Western style body. The building was originally founded by the Anglican Church of American Christian Church. It was called Wenhua College from 1871 to 1903. It was registered as Wenhua University in the United States in 1903, merged into Huazhong University in 1924, and became Huazhong Normal University in 1952. Now it belongs to Hubei University of traditional Chinese medicine.

Former site of the third office of the Political Department of the Military Commission of the National Government
Located in Wuhan No.14 Middle School, it is a school building in the early years of China. In 1938, with the cooperation of the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, the Political Department moved to Wuhan, where the three departments were established. Guo Moruo was the director of the Department, under the direct leadership of Zhou Enlai, Vice Minister of the political department. More than 300 cultural elites were gathered here. At that time, most of the houses used in the third hall had been destroyed, and only one brick and wood structure two-story building was left, which was the staff housing of that year.
The campus of No.14 Middle School is the fengbeicang site built by Lin Zexu, governor of Huguang. From 1903 to 1907, Zhang Zhidong successively opened a public primary school and a secondary school. In 1912, it was the provincial No.1 middle school, and now the property belongs to No.14 Middle School.
Garden Hill
Strictly speaking, Huayuan mountain is a small hill. There are dense forests on the mountain, and there are paths to the East and south. Because there is Hubei University of traditional Chinese medicine nearby, so from time to time you can see some diligent scholars sitting on the lawn, under the trees and beside the stone steps.
Canossa sisters of mercy Chapel: the Canossa sisters of mercy chapel on Garden Hill is a well preserved building. The original building is divided into two parts: Chapel and nun's residence, and its headquarters is located in Rome. In 1868, at the invitation of Ming Wei Tu, bishop of Hubei diocese, the nuns' Association sent personnel to Han. We set up a branch in huayuanshan real estate, and set up public welfare undertakings such as teaching class, craft Institute, and nursery.
Yuyingtang WANYING tomb
Located at No.2 huayuanshan, built in 1928, it is a brick and wood structure building. The church was founded by Bishop aiyuandao, and was presided over by a German lady. The baby was sent outside the church and nursed by a nurse, so the survival rate was high. After continuous development, concentrated in the hall to raise. In 1929, Saint ruohui Sangong nuns association was founded, whose main job was to manage the baby rearing hall. "In 1951, a large number of deaths of the church were exposed, which caused indignation from all walks of life. On June 4, the government took over the church." Build WANYING tomb, bury the white bones collected on the mountain, and engrave inscriptions. It is now a municipal welfare home for children.
The tomb of ten thousand babies built in this area, together with the "memorial to the dead baby", has inscriptions by Zhang Pinghua and other leading comrades. It is a cultural relic protection unit of the city and a patriotic education base.
