History and culture
Jiming post is named after its back on Jiming mountain. In Jimingshan, it is said in shuijingzhu that Zhao Xiangzi killed Daiwang in xiawu and merged with his native land, and Xiangzi welcomed his elder sister in Daiyu. His elder sister Dai's wife said that Dai was dead, and I was going to return. So she molted her hairpin in the mountain and committed suicide. It is also called Jiming mountain because it is named Moji mountain and pheasants sing on the ancestral hall every night. It is said in the Ming Dynasty unified annals that Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty heard Jiming when he arrived at the mountain during the northern expedition, which was named Jiming mountain.
Jiming post is located on the post road, which is the predecessor of National Highway 110 beside it. As early as the pre Qin period, Jiming post was famous for its "Shanggu trunk road". This thousand year old road ran over the rolling chariots of Emperor Hanwu attacking Xiongnu in the north. I have seen Li Zicheng's Dashun army attack the flag of the capital city, and heard the horse neighing of Emperor Kangxi's extermination of gardan. I don't know how many sobbing stories this ancient road deduces. Of course, the ancient road also sent Cixi and Guangxu, who had fled in a hurry. There are many famous towns and post stations along this ancient road, and the first station is Jiming post city. At that time, Jiming post, as a military and civilian post station, also became a place for merchants to gather. According to many existing inscriptions in the post city, there were six pawnshops in the most prosperous time, as well as nine shops, four oil shops, teahouses, chariots and horse shops.
The post station once played an important role in the history of China. It can be said that it was the lifeline of a country. In ancient times, fast horses were used to deliver messages and official documents. Later, due to the limited physical strength and running distance of the horses, they had to change horses halfway to complete the transmission of hundreds of kilometers. Therefore, many horse stations were built along the way. Later, this kind of Horse Station evolved into a temporary place to receive past officials and businessmen The post station, which can deliver information and mail at the same time, also functions as a military castle. It can be said that the post station played the role of modern post office and military base in ancient times. Jiming post is the largest post station in the surrounding area of Beijing. It was built in the early Ming Dynasty and is also the best preserved post station. Jiming post is also the transportation and military fortress from Beijing to Zhangjiakou. With a history of 500 years, jimingyi's wall is square, about 300 meters long on each side. The wall is built with green bricks and rammed with loess. The wall is as high as 15 meters, with crenels on it. The walls around it are basically the same. Some sections have collapsed. There are two gates on the wall, East and West, between which there are big roads for people, carriages and vehicles to go in and out. There are some old houses in the city.
Cultural relics
Ancient city building: the East and West gates are set in the post city, and the upper and lower towers are built respectively. The wall platforms are built on all four sides. The Yuhuang Pavilion is built in the middle of the north wall, the Shouxing temple is built in the middle of the south wall, and the corner platforms are built in the four corners of the city. There are also water retaining walls called shadow wall and urn outside the East and West gates. It is worth mentioning that the ancient city building of Dongmen is the background of zhizunbao and Zixia kissing in the movie journey to the West. However, it has been renovated and lost a lot of sense of vicissitudes. Cixi West escape Palace (he's courtyard): at first, he's courtyard was the headquarters of that year, and it was also the highest standard building in the whole post city. When the Eight Power Allied forces entered Beijing, it was also the place where Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Guangxu stayed. The courtyard was full of brick houses with carved dragons and painted phoenixes. Up to now, there are four regular script characters "Hongxi Jiefu" carved on the gables of the second entrance courtyard, As a memory of Empress Dowager Cixi's residence here. The original five into the courtyard, has become an independent courtyard. Mount Tai Temple: when you come to Jiming post, you have to look at the murals of Mount Tai Temple. Built in the 8th year of Shunzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty, Taishan temple has a history of more than 300 years. However, the murals in the temple are still clearly visible. The painting effect with a sense of hierarchy is amazing. The humorous and unique three and a half sentence explanatory text can be regarded as the best. Post office: the post office was the core of the post office in Qing Dynasty. It was an important administrative organ, which was responsible for all the affairs of the post office. Wenchang Palace: Wenchang palace is a place dedicated to the emperor of Wenchang. Since its completion, it has been a place for the children of the post station and the children of the rich families in the city to go to school. Therefore, it has the function of a Confucian temple. Gongguanyuan: the "gongguanyuan" is a Ming Dynasty building, which is specially used for dining and lodging of past officials and postmen. The north house of the three entrance courtyard is exquisitely made with wooden bolt heads on the partition fan. Each wooden bolt head is engraved with different images of Qin, chess, calligraphy, painting, lotus, bat, cicada and so on, which is lifelike, ingenious and interesting.
