After the reform and opening up, Taiwanese and Japanese businessmen came to Wufeng village. Wufeng village also really took advantage of the traditional stone carving technology. Now there are 87 enterprises in Wufeng village, including 33 tombstone factories with an investment of tens of millions of yuan, 12 Sino foreign joint ventures, and most of the stone carving factories realize automatic and semi-automatic mechanical operation. In Wufeng Village Industrial Zone, there are rows of standard workshops. In the workshops, stones of different colors are cut into different shapes by sawing machines. After grinding, cutting and boring, they are processed into glossy tombstone products of various shapes. In the past, Huidong women, who only knew how to farm, weave nets and do housework, either used a lifting mill or a slender steel chisel Carved with a variety of stone products, with their exquisite skills to give life to various images of the stone.

At the same time of economic development, Wufeng village is committed to accelerating the construction of the new village and setting up public welfare undertakings. A total of 7.5 million yuan has been invested in the construction and improvement of schools, the construction of cement roads between villages, the erection of power transmission lines, the installation of street lamps, the construction of public toilets, and the creation of entertainment facilities for the elderly. A total of 19 teams from Quangang, Licheng, some municipal units, and the county's township teams participated in the competition. Wufeng village people's enthusiasm and support for table tennis makes the village become the residence of Chongwu Table Tennis Association. The association has been established for nearly 20 years. Originally, it was located on the edge of Xisha Bay. The venue is small and the rent is expensive. "Later, Wufeng village committee left us a site of about 100 square meters on the second floor and was responsible for the daily water and electricity charges." Zhang Jiemin, vice president of Chongwu Table Tennis Association and a villager of Wufeng, said that this greatly reduced the burden of the association.

Wufeng village cadres also like table tennis, not only often participate in exercise, but also actively organize competitions. The village committee, together with the table tennis association, contacted enterprises to name their names and organized table tennis competitions such as "Junma Cup", "Jiayi Cup" and "Ansheng Cup" on New Year's day, May 1 and other holidays. And their organization of the "Chongping Cup" county table tennis competition is held every year during the national day.

"For large-scale events, we will invite municipal teams to participate. For county level events, we will inform all town teams to compete with each other." Zhang Jiemin said that every competition, the villagers of the village committee are very enthusiastic. Some watch the game, some help to score, some help to receive, and some serve as referees.

In order to promote table tennis, Wufeng village committee also gave the table tennis association a "hard task": two tables must be set aside on weekends to train the table tennis fans in Wufeng village. "If there is no participation of non-governmental forces and only members of the table tennis association are entertaining themselves, then table tennis will not develop." Zhang Jiemin.
