Jing'an Villa

Jing'an villa was built in 1932, which is the 21st year of the Republic of China. It is named because the villa is located in Jing'an Temple Road (now Nanjing West Road). It's similar to Tianzifang, but it's a quieter place than Tianzifang. Although the flow of people is not as big as Tianzifang, there are a lot of young artists. Many cafes, personalized shops, toy shops and creative shops gather here.

Nearby are Jing'an Temple, Meiqi Grand Theater, shanzhongli, former residence of Cai Yuanpei, Hu mansion, former residence of Zhou Xuan and other famous scenic spots.

Overview of Jing'an Villa

Located in lane 1025, Nanjing West Road, Jing'an villa was invested and built by developer Zhang Tanru in 1932, covering an area of 2.25 hectares. The construction unit will repair the red bricks of the same age which were removed from Dazhongli. According to the construction party, the original ecological red brick walls of Jing'an villa have been cleaned and partially repaired, and coated with waterproof protective agent. According to the old photos found in the municipal archives, the renovator specially restored the earth yellow square wall decoration on the exterior wall of the villa to its original state.

Not only the exterior wall, but also the public kitchen and toilet in Jing'an villa are being renovated. Reporters in a public kitchen has been renovated to see that the ground, wall tiles and chandeliers have been re laid and installed. It is reported that facilities such as bathtubs and buckets in public toilets will also be replaced with new ones.

Built in 1932, Jing'an villa is still the largest new residential complex in Shanghai.
