Moon in Longtan
Yuqiao gorge, where Ode to Xixia is located, has steep cliffs on both sides, folded and facing each other. It is a middle stream, turning, flying and rolling, with many ups and downs. Water potential changes, for turbulence, for waterfall, for pool, for pool. The pool is not very wide, but it is clear and deep. The sky light, cloud shadow, green xiucang trees, and the remains of the ancient inn are all reflected in it. It is said that in ancient times, there was a yellow dragon flying out of the pool, known as the "yellow dragon pool". When the bright moon is in the sky, the moonlight and the water color complement each other. "The light is strange, the pool is full of vitality, and the waves are calm. Mirror even five color Dragon into color, pearl reflects a thousand scales, moon reflects trace. This is the origin of the eight sceneries of Chengxian county.
"Ode to Xixia" stele Pavilion
In Yuqiao gorge, there is an ancient building with flying eaves, simple and straight, in which the famous cliff stone inscription Ode to Xixia stands. Ode to Xixia, ode to Shimen in Hanzhong of Shaanxi Province and Ode to Yinge in Lueyang are listed as "three ode" of Han Dynasty calligraphy. The inscription is a rubbings of the inscriptions. There are very few original stones of the Han Dynasty, and the ode to Xixia is one of them. It is the most complete cliff inscription among the three inscriptions. The full name of Ode to Xixia is Ode to Xixia of Lixi in Heyang of Hanwu capital, commonly known as Huanglong stele. It was engraved in the fourth year of Jianning of Lingdi in Eastern Han Dynasty (A.D. 171). It has a history of more than 1800 years. It is carved on a cliff with concave body and flat surface, 340 cm wide and 220 cm high. It has four character seal forehead of "Huian Xibiao", 20 lines and 385 characters in the body. Each word is about 4 cm square. Throughout the whole article, the authentic official script of Han Dynasty can be clearly identified. The inscription not only describes the life of Li Xi, the governor of Wudu city in the Eastern Han Dynasty, but also praises his virtue of leading the people to open the road of Xixia and benefit the people. The inscriptions depict the dangers of Xixia mountain road, and describe Li Xi's exclamation and ordering the officials concerned to work hard to build the road, chisel cliffs and clear obstacles, cut high and low, cut bends and straighten, finally open a new road, and the pedestrians are jubilant and sing praises of merits and virtues.
On the right side of the inscription of Ode to Xixia is the text, and on the right side are the images of Huanglong, Jiahe, Bailu, mulianli and Chenglu people, which are called "the five auspicious pictures of Yichi". It symbolizes that Lixi was in charge of the government, and during that time, he was in harmony with the people, and the grain was abundant and the people lived happily. It is a supplement to the image of the inscription They are called Huanglong stele by local people. Around the inscriptions are the inscriptions of Yuan Fu, Qian Dao, Chunxi year of Song Dynasty, Guangxu of Qing Dynasty and some celebrities in the Republic of China. Carved on the right side of the cliff, the nine characters "Ode to Xixia carved on cliffs of the Eastern Han Dynasty" are inscribed by Li Keran, a famous contemporary Chinese painting master. There are 12 lines and 142 characters on the inscription, which are the same as the calligraphy style of the text. They are all written and engraved by Qiu Jing, a native of Chengxian county at that time. Qiu Jing is a low ranking official with the character of Han de. even such a little-known official has such a world-famous pen. He can be called an excellent writer and calligrapher, which is the pride of Longnan people.
Another valuable thing about the cliff in Ode to Xixia is that it is well preserved. In Hanli calligraphy, "Ode to Shimen" was originally on the west wall of Shimen in beibaogu, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. It was cut and moved in 1971 due to the regulation of Baohe river. Now it is hidden in Hanzhong City Museum, and the inscription has been damaged to a certain extent. The stone tablet of "Ode to Yinge" has been worn out since ancient times. It was re engraved in Ming Dynasty, but it is no longer the original work. Even so, it was repeatedly damaged, and the characters were seriously damaged. The characters that could be clearly identified were only half of the original. After more than 1800 years, the ode to Xixia remains intact in its original position, and its style remains the same. The main reason is that the monument is concave into the cliff a few meters deep, convex in the top and concave in the bottom, so that it will not be exposed to the sun and avoid rain. The inscription is located on the half cliff. It was once covered by vines, so it is difficult for ordinary people to get close to it. Later, it was discovered by woodcutters, and the world-famous Ode to Xixia reappeared in front of the world.
