Nanyang Medical College

The predecessor of Nanyang Medical College is Nanyang health school founded in 1951. In 2004, it was upgraded to Nanyang Medical College with the approval of the Ministry of education. In 2006, Nanyang Municipal Party committee and government integrated Nanyang Medical Education Resources and merged Nanyang School of traditional Chinese medicine with Zhang Zhongjing National Medical University (Department of traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese medicine, College of science and Technology) into Nanyang Medical College, forming a school running pattern of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine with complementary advantages. At present, the school covers an area of 1316 mu. The building area of the school is 478000 square meters, and the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 105 million yuan. It has more than 1.5 million books and 1520 Chinese and foreign periodicals. The school has 20 party, government and League organizations, 14 teaching departments (departments and colleges), and 6 teaching auxiliary organizations. It has 18 specialties such as clinical medicine, nursing and medical imaging technology, and cooperates with Camden college in the United States and Emilio college in the Philippines. The school has 715 full-time teachers, including 263 senior professional and technical positions (60 senior), 325 master's degree or above, and 6 foreign cultural and educational experts. Five of them were employed as tutors of master and doctoral students in Colleges and universities.

At present, our school has 15 specialized scientific research institutions, including 7 research institutions above the municipal level. It also has a scientific research and experimental center with advanced equipment, supporting functions and an area of 2300 square meters. In 2012, the University was approved to set up a postdoctoral research and development base in Henan Province. The Chinese medicine herbarium and human life science museum are the first-class in China, and the Zhongjing culture special collection museum is unique. The national medical forum is a national journal, and the "Chinese anatomy network" founded by the Chinese anatomy society is determined as a special website.

The University also has one national demonstration training base, five provincial demonstration training bases, five provincial characteristic majors, two pilot majors of Henan Education Reform, four pilot majors of comprehensive reform of colleges and universities in Henan Province, two majors supported by central finance, three provincial excellent courses, two excellent resource sharing courses of colleges and Universities in Henan Province, and three provincial teaching teams. It has undertaken and completed 10 provincial education reform projects, 201 national authorized patents, 3 projects of the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine, 1 project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and 1 project of the Chinese medicine science and technology special project of the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine. He has won one special award for higher education achievements in Henan Province, one second prize for Chinese medical science and technology, and one second prize for scientific and technological achievements in Hubei Province. In 2008, it was rated as excellent in the talent training level evaluation of the Ministry of education; in 2013, it successfully passed the second round of talent training evaluation, and all 22 evaluation indicators were excellent. In 2014, it was rated as "Henan Vocational Education Brand Model School".

The university has independently established 3 affiliated hospitals with more than 3100 beds. The First Affiliated Hospital is a national three-level general hospital, a National People's trust demonstration hospital, a general practitioner training base in Henan Province, a standardized resident training base in Henan Province, and a baby friendly hospital in Henan Province. It has 1800 beds and can independently carry out difficult medical projects such as coronary artery bypass grafting and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular interventional therapy. The Second Affiliated Hospital is a national second class a hospital of traditional Chinese medicine and a demonstration comprehensive training base in Henan Province, with 500 beds. After the recent relocation, the number of beds has been expanded to 1000. The Third Affiliated Hospital is a national second-class general hospital characterized by ophthalmology and minimally invasive surgery, with 300 beds. The three affiliated hospitals have relatively complete training venues and teaching places, which undertake all the clinical teaching tasks of our school and provide guarantee for students' internship.

The school has won more than 40 honorary titles, such as "civilized unit of Henan Province", "advanced unit of Vocational Education in Henan Province", "advanced unit of Exemplary Higher Vocational Education in Henan Province", "advanced unit of Ideological and political work in Henan Province", "advanced collective of college student work in Henan Province".
