Beijing University of Posts and telecommunications is a national key university directly under the Ministry of education, jointly built by the Ministry of industry and information technology, and one of the first batch of "211 Project" construction. It is a key construction University of "985 advantage discipline innovation platform" project. It is a multidisciplinary university with information technology as the feature, engineering as the main body, and coordinated development of industry, management, arts and science. It is an important training base for information technology talents in China.

Since its establishment in 1955, after more than half a century of construction and development, the school's full-time education has formed a school running pattern with rich information background, distinctive professional characteristics and prominent disciplinary advantages. The school now has the school of information and communication engineering, the school of electronic engineering, the school of computer science, the school of automation, the school of software, the school of digital media and design, the school of science, the school of economics and management, the school of humanities, the school of Public Administration, the school of international education, the school of Network Education (School of Continuing Education), the school of ethnic education, the Marxist teaching and Research Center, and the Ministry of sports And other 15 teaching units, as well as three research institutes of network technology, Information Photonics and optical communication, perception technology and industry, with graduate schools. At present, the discipline has covered 10 disciplines, including science, engineering, literature, law, economics, management, military science, education, philosophy and art, involving 22 first-class disciplines. There are about 22000 full-time undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and international students, and about 30000 officially registered part-time students.

In recent years, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications adheres to the guidance of the scientific outlook on development, in accordance with the needs of economic and social development, follows the law of higher education, and in accordance with the strategic thinking of "comprehensive reform and scientific development", firmly establishes the enterprise oriented thinking, and starts the comprehensive reform of school education. ——Firmly establish the idea that talent training is the fundamental task of colleges and universities, vigorously promote the implementation of "quality engineering", actively promote the reform of undergraduate education and teaching and the innovation of postgraduate training mechanism, and realize the coordinated development of quality and scale. In March 2008, the Ministry of Education officially announced that our university has passed the "undergraduate teaching level assessment" with "excellent" results, marking that the quality of talent training in our university has stepped on a new stage. In the past three years, our university has made good achievements in the selection of 100 national excellent doctoral dissertations, national excellent courses, Beijing excellent courses, National Bilingual Teaching Demonstration Courses, general higher education excellent teaching materials, national teaching team, Beijing excellent teaching team, National Education Achievement Award, Beijing Education Achievement Award, etc. For a long time, the one-time passing rate of CET-4 has been maintained at over 85%, the graduate employment rate has been maintained at 100% for many years, and the undergraduate employment rate has been maintained at over 99%. In the major competitions of college students at home and abroad represented by English, electronics, mathematics and physics competitions, the results are excellent, ranking in the forefront of the national key universities.

——We should always adhere to the guiding ideology of taking teachers as the foundation, actively promote the "talent project", constantly expand the talent team and optimize the structure of teachers. At present, our university has an innovative research group of NSFC, an innovative team of "Yangtze River scholars and innovative team development plan", a national candidate of "New Century Talents Project", a national outstanding contribution expert, a winner of "National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars", a winner of "cross century talents plan" of the Ministry of education, and a "New Century Talents Project" It is a strong teaching team with the backbone of "talent support program" winners, Beijing excellent teaching team, Beijing Science and technology stars, provincial and ministerial "youth discipline leaders", provincial and ministerial "outstanding young backbone teachers", government special subsidy experts, national famous teachers, etc. The total number of teaching staff is 2183, including 1435 full-time teachers, 9 academicians, 4 distinguished professors of "Yangtze River scholars Award Program", 21 national outstanding contribution experts, 2 national famous teaching teachers, 959 teachers with senior and vice senior titles, 126 experts enjoying special government subsidies, 88% of full-time teachers with doctor's and master's degrees, and 65 foreign teachers.

——Focusing on the construction of "211 Project" and the construction of two "111" subject innovation and talent introduction bases, the discipline construction is continuously strengthened and the discipline layout is further optimized. At present, the university has 7 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degree, 19 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degree (including 7 first-class disciplines), 2 second-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degree, 4 second-class disciplines authorized by master's degree, 5 kinds of professional master's degree authorized points, 36 undergraduate majors, and 5 post doctoral research mobile stations. The discipline covers 10 disciplines, including science, engineering, arts, law, philosophy, economy, management, military, education and art, and has initially formed a multidisciplinary discipline framework with prominent advantages of information discipline and mutual support of engineering, management, arts and science. In terms of key discipline construction, our university has 2 national key disciplines (information and Communication Engineering (ranked first in the country) and 7 Beijing key disciplines and 8 ministerial key disciplines. Since 2007, the construction of characteristic specialties has been started, and 10 national characteristic specialties and 9 Beijing characteristic specialties have been approved.

——Strengthen the construction of the base and promote the sound development of scientific research. Our university has a number of high-level scientific research bases represented by the State Key Laboratory, the National Engineering Laboratory, the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of education, the National Defense Key Laboratory of the Ministry of education, the engineering research center of the Ministry of education, and the subject innovation and talent introduction base of the Ministry of education. At present, the university has 2 state key laboratories, 5 National Engineering Laboratories (2 leading and 3 cooperating), 2 engineering research centers of the Ministry of education, 2 "111 innovation and talent introduction base" of the Ministry of education, and 9 key laboratories of various ministries. Based on the base construction and team construction, the scientific research work of our university shows a rapid growth in both quality and quantity. In recent three years, it has won nearly 50 national science and technology invention awards, National Science and technology progress awards, provincial and ministerial level and social power awards. At the same time, our university has built a National University Science Park, which has laid a good foundation for promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

——We will strengthen international cooperation and exchanges, and further improve the level of international education. In 2004, with the approval of the Ministry of education, our university began to implement the bachelor's degree joint training program with Queen Mary College of University of London, and established the International College. In recent years, the International College with its strict management and high level of talent training quality has been widely praised in the whole society. The Confucius Institute built by our university and Jinan Pacific University has been officially approved and started to recruit students. Our university has established deep cooperation and exchange relations with more than 70 well-known universities, scientific research institutions and enterprises at home and abroad, signed about 160 cooperation agreements, and launched more than 50 intercollegiate exchange projects involving more than 30 countries and regions and nearly 60 well-known foreign universities.

Our university has successfully applied for and constructed two national "111" innovation bases, namely "communication and network core technology innovation base" and "advanced intelligence and network service innovation base", and introduced world-class academic masters and scientific research scholars represented by Nobel Prize winner roles Alferov, forming a strong international research team.
