Tibet vocational and technical college was established in July 2005 with the approval of the people's Government of Tibet Autonomous Region and on the basis of the former agriculture and animal husbandry School of Tibet Autonomous Region and comprehensive technical secondary school of Tibet Autonomous Region. In September 2006, it was officially listed under the Education Department of the autonomous region. The college has two campuses in the West and North and a practical teaching demonstration base. The campus covers an area of 439 Mu and the building area of the school is 150100 square meters. It has a collection of more than 380000 paper books, with a total value of nearly 40 million yuan in teaching instruments and equipment, 254 million yuan in fixed assets, 88 on campus experimental training rooms, 1 on campus training base, and 66 off campus practice bases.

At present, the college has 10 teaching departments, including College of agricultural science and technology, College of animal science and technology, College of tourism and culture, College of mechanical and electrical engineering, College of economics and management, College of information engineering, College of architectural engineering, Ministry of basic education, Ministry of continuing education and Tibet Branch of Central Agricultural Radio and television school. It has educational administration office, office, personnel department, student affairs office and enrollment department It has 7 functional departments, including employment department, logistics service center and committee of Tibet vocational and Technical College of the Communist Youth League. It has 4 departments directly under the school enterprise office (scientific research management department), teaching supervision room, modern educational technology center and library. In addition, the typical application demonstration site of the e-learning resource center of the Ministry of education and the Ministry of finance, the first national vocational skill appraisal institute of Tibet Autonomous Region and the key construction of vocational education teacher training base of the whole region are also located in our college.

At present, the college has 32 specialties, including agriculture and forestry, animal husbandry, electric power, architecture, electronics, finance and economics, tourism and art. Among them, there are 4 national demonstration key construction majors (crop production technology, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, tourism management, power plant and power system), 4 autonomous regional key construction majors (construction engineering technology, automobile detection and maintenance technology, logistics management and Horticulture), 2 autonomous regional talent training mode reform pilot Majors (Tourism Management, automobile detection and maintenance), and 2 upgrading majors The specialty of service industry development ability construction project (computer network technology, facility agricultural technology) and one characteristic specialty (crop production technology) at the autonomous region level.

At present, there are 5039 registered students (staff), 367 teaching staff, including 304 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, there are 81 with the title of associate professor or above, 86 lecturers, 68 masters and 2 doctors. There are two excellent teaching teams at the autonomous region level, two national excellent teachers, seven excellent teachers and teaching experts in the autonomous region, and one counselor won the "2011 National College Counselor of the year" award. We have obtained 120 "double qualification" teachers and 90 part-time teachers from industry and enterprises. The structure of the teaching staff is becoming more and more reasonable, and the quality of the teaching staff is gradually optimized.

In particular, the school running conditions of the college have been greatly improved through the work of evaluation and construction promotion and the implementation of national demonstration college construction projects It has accelerated the pace of connotation construction, significantly improved the strength and quality of talent training, significantly improved the level of teaching management, and initially formed the characteristics of running a school, showing a good development situation. In recent years, the average employment rate of graduates has reached more than 95%, and the "double certificate" acquisition rate has reached more than 85%. Students have won more than 90 awards in various national skills competitions.

At the same time, the development of the college has also been highly valued by the Ministry of education, the district Party committee, the government, the working committee of education and the Department of education. The leaders of the Ministry of education, the district Party committee and government, the Autonomous Regional Commission of education and the Department of education have visited the college for many times to inspect and guide the work, and have given strong support to the construction and development of the college. In 2008, our college was identified as 100 National Model Higher Vocational Colleges by the Ministry of education and the Ministry of finance. In October 2009, it successfully passed the evaluation of talent training in higher vocational colleges. In June 2011, the college passed the national acceptance of the construction project of the demonstration school.
