Beijing University of printing, affiliated to Beijing, is a full-time University jointly established by the former State Administration of press and publication and Beijing. The predecessor of the school is the printing technology department of the cultural college established by the Ministry of culture in 1958. In 1961, the College of culture was abolished, and the printing department was merged into the Central Academy of Arts and crafts (now the Academy of fine arts of Tsinghua University). In 1978, with the approval of the State Council, Beijing Printing College was established on the basis of the printing technology department. After 57 years of development and construction, the university has become a media university with distinctive discipline characteristics, strong teaching staff, scientific research and innovation, and a broad school running pattern. The University adheres to the characteristic development and promotes the core competitiveness with the characteristic discipline construction. The university has initially formed four characteristic discipline groups of media science and technology, media culture, media management and media art, and has built a new digital media professional group composed of digital printing, digital publishing, digital media art and digital media technology with the characteristics of the times. It has four key construction disciplines in Beijing, seven first-class discipline master's degree authorization points and five professional master's degree authorization points There are 19 master's degree authorization points of secondary disciplines and 26 undergraduate majors. The University cooperates with Communication University of China, Beijing Jiaotong University, Institute of chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, South China University of technology, Tianjin University of science and technology and other universities and scientific research institutions to train doctoral students. At present, there are nine key scientific research institutions in Beijing. In 2012 and 2013, the scientific research funds are maintained at more than 70 million yuan. In 2014, the new scientific research funds are 63.87 million yuan, with a total value of 345.8 million yuan of teaching and scientific research equipment assets, and the total number of books in the collection is 1.0211 million. China Printing Museum is an important education and research base for printing and publishing. The exhibition area of the museum is more than 4600 square meters and the collection is more than 26000 pieces. The university has strengthened the combination of production, teaching and research, and established a scientific research platform covering the press and publishing industry chain. In 2010, with the approval of Beijing Municipality, the University established Beijing green printing and packaging industry technology research institute and Beijing printing University Science and technology park. In 2013, the school established the Cultural Industry Security Research Institute and Qingdao Research Institute. In 2014, the University was approved as the national green printing and packaging industry collaborative innovation base, and established the digital publishing and Media Research Institute of Beijing University of printing. The university has signed strategic cooperation agreements with the local government, more than 20 scientific research institutions and enterprises, and brother universities, respectively, initiating the establishment of Beijing green printing industry technology innovation alliance and the co construction of Jingnan University Science Park. In the past three years, the university has undertaken more than 70 national and Beijing major scientific and technological projects, and the quantity and quality of scientific research achievements have been significantly improved. It has published more than 2000 academic papers in core journals, and nearly 700 papers have been retrieved by SCI, EI, ISTP and CSSCI. It has applied for 1152 patents and authorized 504 patents.
