Zhejiang University of traditional Chinese medicine (Zhejiang University of traditional Chinese Medicine) is a provincial university, which is mainly composed of traditional Chinese medicine, medical science, engineering, management and literature. It is located on the South Bank of Qiantang River in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, and faces the national scenic spot "Liuhe tower" across the river. The predecessor of the school is Zhejiang traditional Chinese medicine school, which was founded in June 1953. In June 1959, Zhejiang College of traditional Chinese medicine was officially established. It is located in the former site of Zhejiang University, Qingchun street, Hangzhou city. In March 2000, it moved to the current site as a whole. In February 2006, it was renamed Zhejiang University of traditional Chinese medicine.

The university is one of the first Chinese medicine universities in China to recruit and train Chinese medicine postgraduates, obtain the right to recruit students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and recruit students from Hong Kong without examination. It is one of the first batch of national education informatization pilot units and the universities implementing the national innovation and entrepreneurship training plan for college students. It is also one of the first batch of Universities under Zhejiang Province to obtain the right to confer doctor's degree, post doctoral research mobile station and national key disciplines It is the working base of the qualification certification center of traditional Chinese medicine of the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine.

It has successively obtained 25 key disciplines of the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine and 4 top priority disciplines of Zhejiang Province. Journal of Zhejiang University of traditional Chinese medicine and Zhejiang clinical medicine are two academic journals. Among them, journal is one of the earliest academic journals of traditional Chinese medicine in China. It has been published in more than 20 countries and regions, and has been included in American Chemical Abstracts, Polish Copernicus index and other international famous retrieval systems.

The University attaches great importance to expanding international exchanges and cooperation. It has established cooperative relations with 58 educational, scientific research and medical institutions in 26 countries and regions, including the United States, Germany and Japan. It has recruited foreign students from 52 countries and regions, and has employed 39 foreign experts and scholars as visiting professors.
