Shijiazhuang University is a state-owned full-time undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of education. The school is located in Shijiazhuang high tech Industrial Development Zone, Hebei Province, which is composed of two campuses, North and south. It has convenient transportation, beautiful environment, good geographical advantages and economic and cultural conditions. The school was founded in 1958 in Shijiazhuang normal college, and changed its name to Shijiazhuang normal college in 1959. In March 1996, with the approval of Hebei Provincial People's government, Shijiazhuang normal college, Shijiazhuang Regional Institute of education and Shijiazhuang Municipal Institute of education were merged and named as "Shijiazhuang normal college". Approved by the Ministry of education in May 2004, Shijiazhuang teachers college was upgraded to Shijiazhuang University.

The school covers an area of 1221 mu, with a construction area of 354000 square meters. It has 13 experimental centers and 258 laboratories, among which the basic physics experimental teaching center, literature and media experimental teaching center, computer science and engineering experimental teaching center and chemical pharmaceutical experimental teaching center are provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers in Hebei Province, with the total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment reaching 144 million yuan. The library has a collection of more than 1.1 million books, 432000 e-books, 902 periodicals and 23 database resources. Multifunctional gymnasium, swimming pool and other sports facilities are complete, forming a perfect teaching and living system. At present, there are more than 17300 full-time students.

In close connection with the economic and social development needs of Hebei Province, especially Shijiazhuang City, the university has formed a professional pattern of "three groups and one chain" for the leading industries and the construction of a harmonious society in Shijiazhuang City, and constructed a professional system to serve the local economic construction and social development and cultivate high-quality applied talents.
