The Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE) is a key construction University of the national "211 Project" directly under the Ministry of education. It is the first finance and economics university organized by the state after the founding of new China. In the process of running a school for more than 50 years, it has always been given special care by the three generations of collective leadership of the party and the state, as well as the leaders of the Ministry of education and the Ministry of finance. On November 6, 1949, when the school was founded, its name was the central taxation school. In 1951, it was renamed the Central Institute of finance. In 1952, when the national universities were adjusted, the departments of Finance and economics of Peking University, Yanjing University, Tsinghua University and Furen University were merged into our university, and then renamed as the Central Institute of Finance and economics, directly under the leadership of the Ministry of higher education, and then under the leadership of the Ministry of Finance and the head office of the people's Bank of China (changed to a leader of the Ministry of Finance after the Cultural Revolution). In 1996, it was renamed as the Central University of Finance and economics with the approval of the Ministry of education. In February 2000, it was established independently and put under the management of the Ministry of education. The basic task of the university is to develop the socialist market economy and cultivate the senior professional talents for management, teaching and scientific research required by the government's financial and tax departments, financial and insurance institutions, companies and enterprises, colleges and universities, and scientific research institutions. The school headquarters is located at 39 Xueyuan South Road, Haidian District, with two branches in Qinghe, Haidian District and fushouling, Shijingshan District. At present, the university has 8 colleges including the school of Finance and public management, the school of finance, the school of accounting, the school of business, the school of economics, the school of information, the school of law, the school of culture and media, and 6 departments directly under the Department of investment economics, the Department of insurance, the Department of foreign languages, the Department of sociology, the Department of economic mathematics, the Department of sports economics and management, as well as the graduate department, the school of continuing education, and the international cultural exchange department College. It has 37 undergraduate majors in six disciplines, including economics, management, law, literature, science and engineering, and has the autonomy to set up undergraduate majors in economics and management; it has doctoral degree authorization points and post doctoral mobile stations in the first level disciplines of Applied Economics, theoretical economics, public administration, law, business administration, etc There are 16 doctoral degree authorization points, 30 master's degree authorization points and 4 professional degree authorization points, including MBA, MPAcc, MPa and J.M. It has four national and Beijing Key Disciplines: finance, national economics, finance and accounting. There are many forms of continuing education, such as correspondence education, night University and short-term training. Among them, diploma education is divided into two levels: College (including the second Diploma) and college starting undergraduate. There are nearly 40 correspondence education stations in 15 provinces, cities and autonomous regions. The school's various master's point also widely carried out in-service personnel with the same degree to apply for master's degree training. The university has more than 30 scientific research institutions, such as Institute of Finance and economics, China Academy of Actuarial Science, China Enterprise Research Center, national defense economic and Management Research Institute, among which China Academy of actuarial science is the key research base of Humanities and social sciences of ordinary colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education, and Beijing Financial Research Base of Institute of Finance and economics is the research base of philosophy and social sciences of Beijing. There are more than 15000 students in the University, including 7122 full-time students (5205 undergraduates and 1917 postgraduates), 320 international students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and more than 7000 correspondence and evening university students. The school has 1040 faculty members, including more than 563 full-time teachers, more than 300 professors and associate professors. It also has a group of well-known scholars and experts with influence in the country. In addition, it has hired more than 100 well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad to serve as visiting professors. The school has a sound laboratory, computer laboratory, multimedia classrooms and other relatively complete modern financial education necessary teaching facilities and equipment. The University actively develops international exchanges and cooperation, and has established extensive contacts with universities and other organizations in the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Australia, South Korea, Russia and Ukraine, as well as in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. For a long time, the school has maintained close contact and good cooperation with the school of economic development of the world bank. In 1983, the school established a cooperative training center and held more than 20 training courses. In addition, the school also has good cooperation with Asahi Inspection Corporation, Zurich Financial Services Group, AXA insurance group of France, MetLife Insurance Company of the United States and other organizations. The Beijing examination centers of the Institute of Actuaries of the United Kingdom, the Royal insurance society of the United Kingdom and the insurance society of Australia are all located in our school. In addition to employing foreign experts as teachers of English and professional courses, the University also invites dozens of foreign experts to give lectures and cooperate in research every year. At the same time, many teachers are sent abroad to give lectures, cooperate in research or study and further study every year. The university recruits foreign students every year, as well as postgraduate students in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. On October 29, 1999, Comrade Jiang Zemin wrote an inscription for the 50th anniversary of the founding of the University: "strive to run the Central University of Finance and Economics well and provide high-quality management talents for the modernization drive.". Comrade Jiang Zemin's important inscription reflects the party and state leaders' ardent concern for the school, puts forward higher requirements for the construction and development of the school, strengthens the confidence of teachers and students in running the school well, and stimulates their enthusiasm to actively participate in the reform of higher education. With the approval of the Ministry of education, the school will enter Shahe Higher Education Park in Beijing. The new campus covers an area of more than 1000 mu, and the school will achieve greater development. The Central University of Finance and economics must, in accordance with the requirements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, adhere to the socialist direction of running a school, seize the opportunity, deepen reform, forge ahead and make innovations, and strive to build the university into a research-oriented university with characteristics, multidisciplinary nature and internationalization.
