Liaoning University of petroleum and chemical technology was founded in Dalian in 1950. It was the first petroleum industry school in New China. It moved to Fushun in 1953 and was upgraded to Fushun Institute of petroleum in 1958. In February 2000, it was transferred from the central ministries to the leadership of Liaoning Provincial People's government. It implemented the management system of "central and local co construction, local oriented". In February 2002, it was renamed as Liaoning University of petroleum and chemical industry with the approval of the Ministry of education Learning. Over the past 55 years, the university has trained more than 50000 graduates, most of whom have become leading cadres and technical backbones at all levels in petroleum and petrochemical industries. The school is located in Fushun City, Liaoning Province, Hun River bank, beautiful scenery, beautiful environment. The campus covers an area of 2013 mu, with a building area of 564000 square meters, a collection of 1.53 million books (including 654000 e-books), a total asset value of 720 million yuan (excluding 520 million yuan of assets to be defined in the new campus construction project), and a total value of 86.84 million yuan of teaching and scientific research equipment.
