Xi'an Flight College of PLA Air Force

Xi'an Flight College of the air force of the people's Liberation Army was merged from the second flight College of the air force and the fifth Flight College of the air force in 2011. The second flight College of the air force was born in the same year as the people's Republic of China. It has a glorious fighting history and excellent revolutionary tradition. Its predecessor was the "northeast old aviation school". It was built in Changchun on December 1, 1949, and was named "the second bombing school" at that time. At the end of the same year, it was renamed "the second Aviation School of the Chinese people's Liberation Army". On March 1, 1966, according to the order of the Central Military Commission, the school was moved from Changchun, Jilin Province to Jiajiang, Sichuan Province; in June 1976, it was named "the second Aviation School of the air force"; in September 1986, it was named the second flight College of the air force. In September 1992, it was renamed the 16th Air Force Flight Academy (Jiajiang bomber) branch, and in June 1993, it was restored to the second air force flight academy. On July 26, 1999, according to the order of the Central Military Commission, the second flight College of the air force and the 16th Flight College of the air force were merged to build a new second flight College of the air force. The original 16th Flight College of the air force was changed into Xi'an Branch of the second Flight College of the air force, which is subordinate to the air force of Chengdu Military Region. On June 10, 2004, according to the order of the Central Military Commission, the number of Xi'an Branch of the second flight academy of the air force was cancelled, and the Department of the Academy was moved from Jiajiang, Sichuan Province to Huxian, Shaanxi Province.
