South University of science and technology

Southern University of science and technology is a public innovative university founded by the leadership and management of Guangdong Province and Shenzhen city. Its goal is to quickly build an international high-level research university and an important base for China's major scientific and technological research and top-notch innovative talents training. Guo Yurong is the current party secretary and Chen Shiyi is the current president.

The school is located in Nanshan District, Shenzhen city. The campus covers an area of 1943800 square meters, with a planned total building area of more than 700000 square meters. It is constructed in two phases. At present, the planning and design work of the first and second phases of the campus is being carried out, and the construction is about to start, which is expected to be initially completed in 2018.

The university has been identified as the national experimental school for comprehensive reform of higher education. In April 2012, the Ministry of Education approved the establishment of the University and entrusted the university with the great mission of exploring the modern university system with Chinese characteristics and innovative talent training mode. According to the school objectives, the university is committed to building itself into an institution gathering and cultivating top-notch innovative talents, as well as a platform for creating world-class academic achievements, promoting the application of science and technology, and supporting the sustainable development of Shenzhen.
