Chongqing Tourism Vocational College

Chongqing Tourism Vocational College is a public tourism college established by Chongqing Municipal People's government and put on record by the Ministry of education. It has been identified as the construction unit supported by the central financial special funds, the construction unit of "key project of tourism talent development" in Chongqing, the pilot unit of modern apprenticeship talent training mode of Chongqing tourism vocational education, and the construction unit of innovation and entrepreneurship training plan for college students in Chongqing Colleges and universities.

The college has been highly valued by Chongqing municipal Party committee and government. Since its establishment, party and state leaders such as Zhang Dejiang and He Guoqiang, as well as leaders of relevant departments such as the national development and Reform Commission, the National People's Commission and the State Poverty Alleviation Office, and relevant leaders of Chongqing Municipality have all visited the university to inspect and guide its work.

The college is located in Qianjiang, the central city of Southeast Chongqing and Wuling mountain area, and is located in the science and Education Park of Qianjiang new town. The campus covers an area of 506 mu, with a construction area of 200000 square meters, including library, teaching building, office building, student canteen, student apartment, track and field playground, basketball court, student activity center and national sports training ground. More than 10 million yuan of training facilities and equipment have been allocated, and hotel training building, 3D simulation guide training room, cooking operation room, Chinese and Western food training room, bar, tea culture room and other on campus training places have been built, and off campus training bases have been established in more than 30 Tourism enterprises such as Chongqing Tourism control group, Longxin group, Zhejiang Songcheng group, Hunan Zhangjiajie scenic area.

Since 2010, the college has enrolled nearly 3000 students. It has established 6 departments and 1 Department, including tourism management department, hotel management department, tourism planning department, tourism equipment department, international tourism department, tourism art department and public infrastructure department, and set up 16 departments, including tour guide, scenic spot development and management, tourism management, travel agency operation and management, hotel management, urban garden, dance performance, music performance, design and production of tourism crafts, cooking technology and nutrition Professional, covering the "food, housing, travel, shopping and entertainment" and other tourism industry needs, showing a distinctive tourism characteristics. Tourism management, scenic spot development and management and other two majors were supported by the central special subsidy fund. According to the market characteristics of the tourism industry, the innovative talent training mode of "light and prosperous complementary" explored by the college has aroused repercussions in the national tourism academic circles, and has been widely reported and reprinted by Chongqing daily, hualong.com, China network television and other media.

The college implements the strategy of strengthening the college with talents, and strives to build a teaching staff team with excellent quality, reasonable structure and dedication. There are 159 teaching staff, including 126 doctors and masters, 10 with senior titles and 3 with overseas study background. Yuan Daoxian, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was specially appointed as the honorary president, more than 30 part-time and visiting professors from the National Tourism Administration and the Central Institute of education, and 25 professionals from various tourism industries in Chongqing were employed as part-time teachers. The U.S. - China Friendship volunteer program has sent two American teachers to teach English at school. We have signed educational cooperation agreements with California San Jose State University and Cambodia University of management and economics. At present, more than 10 municipal scientific research projects have been funded and more than 2000 people have been trained in the tourism industry.

According to the "decision on further accelerating the development of tourism industry" and "decision on vigorously developing vocational and technical education" issued by Chongqing municipal Party committee and government, our college will adhere to the school running idea of "tourism as the feature, industry as the support, culture as the basis, quality as the core, and employment as the guidance", carry forward the college spirit of "travel by things, blend the past and cast the present", and uphold the "happy life" We should build an important base for tourism talents training, an important platform for tourism education and scientific research, and an important window for tourism information science, so as to build a distinctive University as soon as possible.
