Henan Normal University is located in Xinxiang City, Henan Province, which is a new national independent innovation demonstration area of ZhengLuo. It is located in the vast pastoral land and the beautiful waterfront of Weishui. The predecessor of Henan Normal University is Zhongzhou University (former national Henan University), which was founded in 1923. In 1953, it merged with Pingyuan Normal University and was renamed Henan Normal University. Later, it was renamed Xinxiang Normal University. In 1985, it was named Henan Normal University. In 2007, it was determined by the Ministry of education as an excellent university for undergraduate teaching level evaluation. In 2012, it was selected as a university supported by the national Midwest higher education revitalization plan. In 2015, it was jointly built by the provincial government and the Ministry of education. In 2017, it was selected as the national "111 plan".
