North China University of science and technology is located in Tangshan, a modern coastal city and an important industrial town of Bohai Rim Economic Zone. It is a key provincial backbone university with engineering and medicine as the main body, science, economics, management, arts, law and art as well as a comprehensive education level of international student education, postgraduate education, undergraduate education and continuing education. The university is jointly built by the people's Government of Hebei Province and the State Administration of work safety, the people's Government of Hebei Province and the State Administration of science, technology and industry for national defense.

It has been passed on for a hundred years and has a profound foundation. Hebei Union University, the predecessor of North China University of science and technology, was established by the former Hebei University of science and technology and North China Coal Medical College with the approval of the Ministry of education in May 2010. Hebei University of technology, formerly known as the school of mining of Beiyang Western learning school, was founded in 1895. It was founded in 1958 and merged into the Department of mining and metallurgy of Tianjin University in 1959. It used to use the names of Tangshan Institute of mining and metallurgy, Hebei Institute of mining and metallurgy, Tangshan Institute of engineering and technology and Hebei Institute of technology; The predecessor of North China Coal Medical College is Kailuan senior nursing vocational school, which was founded in 1926. Since 1963, it has been established as an undergraduate school. It used to use the names of Tangshan Coal Mine Medical College and Hebei Medical College. It is the only undergraduate medical college under the former Ministry of coal industry. Since the merger, with the strong support of the provincial Party committee, the provincial government and the Department of education, the university has reached a new level in discipline construction, personnel training, teaching staff construction, scientific research, international cooperation, social services, overall school running conditions and comprehensive service ability.

There are abundant teachers and excellent conditions for running a school. The school has more than 4000 professional and technical personnel, including 2072 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, there are more than 620 teachers with doctor's degree and more than 1000 teachers with the title of associate professor and professor. At present, the university has more than 100 outstanding talents, such as double employed academicians, national "thousand talents plan" talents, national candidates of "New Century Talents Project", special subsidy experts of the State Council, high-end talents of Hebei Province, Yanzhao scholars, provincial management experts, etc. There are more than 52000 full-time students. The school has first-class voice classroom, multimedia classroom, electronic reading room, CAD center, computing center, audio-visual education center and network center and other modern teaching facilities. The school library takes the lead in introducing "RFID Book Intelligent Management System" in the whole province, realizing the integrated service of "collection, borrowing, reading, consulting and management". The university has five journals of natural science, medicine and social science, which have certain influence at home and abroad. The school has 20 affiliated hospitals and non affiliated hospitals.

The disciplines are complete and the specialties are distinctive. At present, the university has 87 undergraduate majors, 1 mobile post doctoral research station, 3 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degree, 19 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degree, and 8 professional degree authorization categories; it has 10 national characteristic majors, 18 key disciplines determined by national ministries and provincial departments, 12 national ministries and provincial key laboratories, 3 provincial collaborative innovation centers, and 32 municipal key laboratories; There are training base of mine medical rescue center of State Administration of work safety, Trauma Research Institute of Hebei Province and research base of urban and rural overall planning and integrated development of Hebei Province. Tangshan Institute of scientific development, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tangshan urban and rural integration development research center, Tangshan academician workstation and other institutions rely on the construction of our university.

The teaching achievements are outstanding. The university has 8 national and provincial teaching teams, 54 excellent courses, 9 professional comprehensive reform pilot, 13 experimental teaching demonstration centers, 119 national "undergraduate teaching engineering" projects, including professional comprehensive reform pilot, excellent engineer, excellent doctor, experimental teaching demonstration center, and 386 provincial "undergraduate teaching engineering" projects; In recent years, it has won 65 national and provincial teaching achievement awards. The number of high impact papers and global hot papers of ESI ranked first in Hebei Universities, and clinical medicine entered the top 1% of ESI in the world.

The University was rated as "2012-2014 national college students innovation and entrepreneurship training plan implementation advanced unit" by the Ministry of education. The university has always insisted on serving the local areas. Over the past 50 years, the undergraduate education has trained more than 100000 professional technical and management talents. It has become the cradle of general managers and chief engineers of metallurgy, mining, heavy chemical industry and other industries in Hebei Province, and the cradle of senior medical talents and backbone of occupational disease prevention and control business in the national coal industry. Adhering to the strategy of revitalizing the university through science and technology, we have achieved fruitful results. In recent years, the university has won 2 second prizes of national science and technology progress and 85 provincial and ministerial scientific research awards; it has undertaken 171 national projects such as national science and technology support plan, "863" plan, "973" plan, national major science and technology projects, national international science and technology cooperation projects, National Natural Science Foundation, National Social Science Foundation, etc., with an average annual research fund of nearly 100 million yuan; More than 420 academic papers were searched by SCI, 6 papers were published in nature and science, 697 patents were authorized, including 248 invention patents.

Deepening exchanges and cooperation, international influence is growing day by day. With the approval of Hanban, the first Confucius Institute of traditional Chinese medicine in central and Eastern Europe has been established in cooperation with the University of page, Hungary; it is the Chinese organizer of the China Hungary Medical Forum; it has been approved by the Ministry of education to hold undergraduate programs of electrical engineering and automation, mechanical manufacturing and automation in cooperation with Heidelberg University of applied technology, Germany; It has established substantive cooperative relations with more than 30 universities in more than 10 countries, including the University of British Columbia in Canada, Regency University in Georgia, etc. At present, there are more than 200 students studying abroad.
