Lu'an vocational and technical college is located in Changzhi City, Shanxi Province, with beautiful environment, beautiful scenery and numerous historical sites. It is also the seat of Lu'an Mining Group Company, a famous enterprise in the national coal industry. The college, formerly known as Lu'an Mining Bureau staff University, was founded in 1975. With the support of Lu'an Group, the college has developed into a comprehensive higher vocational college integrating Lu'an vocational and technical college, correspondence Station of Taiyuan University of technology, Party School of Shanxi provincial Party committee, Northeast University of Finance and economics and Beijing Campus of China University of mining and technology.

The college is located at the foot of Taihang Mountain and Shangdang basin. Taichang expressway runs through the north and south, Jinjiao Expressway in the South and Taijiu Expressway in the north. The traffic is very convenient. The campus covers an area of more than 300 mu, with a construction area of 120000 square meters. The campus is surrounded by lush flowers and trees, and is an ideal learning garden for students. There are 300 academic lecture halls, seven advanced laboratories, five practice workshops and three underground simulation roadways to meet the professional needs. In addition, there is an Internet system for distance learning.

The college has a strong and dedicated teaching staff. At present, there are 322 teaching staff, of which 70% are teachers with middle and senior professional titles, and more than 30% are "double qualified" teachers.

The college has mechanical and electrical engineering department, mining engineering department, information engineering department, economic and trade management department and foreign language department. There are 27 coal mine and social general majors, including 14 higher vocational colleges, 9 technical secondary schools and 4 technical schools. The major of automobile maintenance and welding technology is a Sino German cooperation major; the major of mechatronics and automobile maintenance is a provincial pilot major of teaching reform in higher vocational colleges; the major of coal mining technology, mine ventilation and safety is a talent training major in short supply in Shanxi Province.

Adhering to the policy of "building a first-class coal mine safety training base, forging a number of related skills and excellent majors", the college pays attention to the teaching concept of combining theoretical teaching with practice, sums up a number of excellent teaching and research achievements, such as "open teaching research", and participates in the "coal enterprise education in China" in the key project of the Ministry of education "Research on the education reform and development of China's coal enterprises in the early decade of the 21st century" This paper is the compilation of the sub topic "Research on the construction of experimental practice and training base of school running entity". The national unified teaching materials such as underground electric fitter, fan driver and coal mine safety management compiled by our teachers are used in the national coal mine safety training as the designated teaching materials. In March 2004, the scientific research project of "using coal gangue to produce new biological fertilizer" was listed in the "Shanxi enterprise science and technology innovation plan" by the provincial economic and Trade Commission.
