Hunan sports vocational college is located in Changsha sports new city, covering an area of 689 mu. The courtyard is beautiful, elegant and quiet. It is the only full-time ordinary college in our province that integrates physical education and sports training. It undertakes the dual tasks of physical education and competitive sports, and takes the training of applied sports talents and excellent athletes needed by the society as its own duty. It is the cradle of cultivating sports stars and the base of "sports Hunan army".

The college has 769 teaching staff. The organization has 10 departments (party office, college office, personnel office, training and competition office, educational administration office, Student Affairs Office, logistics and finance office, security office, industry office and veteran management office). The teaching auxiliary units include two departments (physical education department and Social Physical Education Department), two departments (continuing education department and ideological and Political Theory Teaching Department), one school (Provincial Sports School), one Institute (Provincial Sports Research Institute) and one center (Book audio-visual education center). The training unit has six sports management centers (weightlifting, badminton, tennis, swimming, shooting and wrestling, judo and Taekwondo). The college has complete teaching, training and living facilities. The building area of teaching and training facilities is more than 112000 square meters. It has two teaching buildings, one library and scientific research building, seven student dormitories, more than 300 computers, three voice rooms, five multimedia classrooms, and eight laboratories (the "strength diagnosis and recovery" Laboratory of the Institute of physical education is one of the key laboratories in Hunan Province). There are 12 indoor halls and 30 outdoor venues for teaching and training.

At present, our college has more than 2000 students, 140 full-time teachers and 34 part-time teachers. Among them, there are 19 senior professional titles, 47 deputy senior professional titles and 78 intermediate professional titles. Among the full-time teachers, there are 6 experts who have made outstanding contributions and 2 young and middle-aged experts who enjoy special government subsidies. In the past two years, a total of 14 teachers have been introduced, including 8 postgraduates and 6 undergraduates, and 8 new external teachers. The structure of the teaching staff has been greatly improved. Tang Hui and Zhang Shaochen, the national coaches of badminton champions Gong Zhichao, Gong Ruina, Huang Sui, Bao Chunlai and Zheng Bo, Chen Yijie and he Yicheng, the national coaches of weightlifting champions Yang Xia, Yang Lian and Wang Mingjuan, and Xie Fengsen, the national coaches of world famous tennis players Li Fang and Chen Li. In the past three years, the employment rate of graduates is more than 90%. Physical education and social sports, as the main majors, have trained a large number of grass-roots physical education teachers, social sports instructors and fitness coaches for the society, which are welcomed by the society and employers.

For more than 20 years, the college has always adhered to the socialist direction of running a school, with the goal of "cultivating qualified talents, creating gold medal benefits, and running a school with characteristics" as its school running goal, and the development idea of "taking teaching and training as the center, coordinating the development of physical education and competitive sports, two-wheel drive, and flying side by side", firmly seizing the great opportunity of the country's vigorous development of higher vocational education, and taking various measures at the same time, The strength of running a school has been continuously enhanced, the strength of personnel training has been continuously increased, and the quality of teaching has been continuously improved. It has trained a large number of sports professionals with excellent morality and skills and all kinds of sports talents needed by the society. In 2007, our college, as the first one among the 10 sports vocational colleges in China to accept the evaluation of the talent training level of the Ministry of education and the Provincial Department of education, has achieved the excellent goal and entered the list of 24 excellent vocational colleges in the province, which has put the wings of rapid and good development of the college. In 2008, in order to consolidate the evaluation results, the college strengthened the construction of the teaching team of sports specialty group, social sports specialty and tennis course, and successfully entered the provincial key construction project of Hunan Vocational Education in the "Eleventh Five Year Plan"; with the approval of the State General Administration of sports, the college established the only sports professional function appraisal station in the province, and actively implemented the "academic certificate" and "professional certificate" The double certificate system of "qualification certificate" further creates favorable conditions for students' employment.

The college's competitive sports has always maintained a strong momentum of development, and sports training has achieved many good results. Many sports stars have risen from here, cultivating four Olympic champions, including Xiong Ni, Yang Xia, Gong Zhichao and long Qingquan, 34 world champions, including Tang Jiuhong, 56 Asian champions and nearly 200 national champions. In the 26th, 27th and 29th Olympic Games and the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th National Games, Hunan has made great contributions to Hunan's competitive sports ranking among the top ten in China. Especially in the 56kg class of the 29th Beijing Olympic Games, our athlete long Qingquan worked hard to win the sixth gold medal for the Chinese team, and was awarded the best men's Rookie Award of China's top ten Lawrence championship in 2008.
