Xinjiang Normal College (Xinjiang Institute of Education) is an ordinary normal college specialized in training talents for compulsory education and preschool education. The school was founded in 1978, formerly known as Urumqi first normal school, and can be traced back to Xinjiang Normal School in 1906. In 1989, the former Xinjiang Radio and television Normal University was incorporated into Xinjiang Institute of education. In 2003, the former Xinjiang Institute of technology was merged into Xinjiang Institute of education. In March 2012, Xinjiang Normal College was listed, implementing "one set of institutions, two brands"; in December, Xinjiang preschool normal school was merged into Xinjiang Normal College, focusing on the training of preschool teachers, primary school teachers, junior high school teachers and bilingual teachers in Xinjiang.
The school is located at the foot of the beautiful red mountain in Urumqi. It is a municipal "garden unit". It has three campuses, covering an area of 185000 square meters, a building area of 261900 square meters, a collection of 612000 books, and a fixed asset of 308 million yuan.
