Jiangsu United vocational and technical college is an independent college established in June 2003 with the approval of the provincial government and the record of the Ministry of education. The college implements the school running mode of "primary school and University School", and has several higher vocational and technical schools as its branches.

The main functions of Jiangsu United vocational and technical college are: to coordinate and help higher vocational and technical schools to formulate development plans; to coordinate the annual enrollment plan of five-year students of Higher Vocational and technical schools; to organize higher vocational and technical schools to carry out educational and teaching exchanges, cooperation and research; to coordinate the professional construction of Higher Vocational and technical schools and the sharing of teaching resources between schools To be responsible for the management of the student status of five-year students in Higher Vocational and technical schools and the issuance of graduation certificates.

At present, the college has 37 branches, including Nanjing Engineering Branch, and 25 schools, including Jiangsu drama school. There are more than 130 Five-year Higher Vocational Majors in 16 categories, with nearly 157 000 five-year higher vocational students. The college has more than 20 training bases approved by the Ministry of education and 15 approved by the Department of education. Many branches strengthen international exchanges and cooperation, employ foreign teachers to teach and organize students to study abroad. We should actively carry out the work of vocational skill appraisal, vigorously implement the "double certificate system", and strive to enable students to obtain both graduation certificate and vocational skill certificate when they graduate, so as to enhance their employment competitiveness. In recent years, the employment rate has been maintained at more than 95%, and many majors are in short supply.
