Hunan Vocational College of foreign trade

Hunan Vocational College of foreign economic relations and trade was upgraded from Hunan foreign economic relations and trade school and Hunan Economic and trade school in July 2003. The history of running the college can be traced back to the establishment of Hunan Grain school in 1954. Sponsored by Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce, the college is a full-time higher vocational college integrating academic education and vocational training.

Our college has three parts: South Campus, North Campus and new campus. The south campus is located in mojiaao of Changsha City, and the north campus is located in Wangyue village of Changsha South Railway Station. The two old campuses cover a total area of 258 mu. The total building area of the school is 110000 square meters, including 49500 square meters of teaching and administrative rooms. The fixed assets are 76.299 million yuan, and the total value of teaching equipment is 15.998 million yuan. The new campus is located in Dingzi Town, Wangcheng County. The college has four departments and three departments, namely, Department of international business, Department of business foreign languages, Department of modern service trade, Department of business information and technology, Department of international affairs, Department of practical training and Department of public courses. It has set up 19 majors, including international economy and trade, business English, logistics management, Applied Korean and computerized accounting, including 2 provincial education reform pilot majors. The college has 5452 full-time students, including 3901 three-year higher vocational students. At the beginning of its establishment, the college was faced with many difficulties, such as the integration of people and culture of the two campuses, the restructuring of foreign trade and domestic trade, and the transition from technical secondary school to higher vocational school. The Party committee and the administrative department of the college led the staff and students to emancipate their minds, change their ideas, actively reform, and work together. After five years of efforts, the college's work has improved significantly.

The college covers an area of 706 Mu from 258 mu of the old campus, and the building area has increased from 89000 square meters to 110000 square meters. When the two universities merged, there were more than 400 teaching staff, including less than 200 full-time teachers, no professors, only 45 senior lecturers, only 5 teachers with master's degree, and no provincial professional leaders and provincial young backbone teachers. As of June 30, 2008, there are 411 on-the-job teaching staff in the hospital, but there are 243 full-time teachers, 5 professors, 74 vice senior professional titles, 62 master's degree teachers, 1 provincial young backbone teacher, 4 domestic visiting scholars, 2 provincial professional leaders and 19 college level professional leaders. The number of three-year programs has increased from 2 to 19, and the number of pilot programs has increased from none to 2. The number of books in the library has increased from 310000 to 760000. The number of students enrolled has increased from 900 to 2000. From 2004 to 2008, 78 projects were set up, including 5 national projects, 24 provincial projects and 9 Department projects. The introduction of UIs (University new image design) project improves the college culture, refines the school running concept, improves the college system, reshapes the college image, and lays a solid foundation for strengthening the college through culture.

The college adheres to the school running concept of "running a school with an international perspective, cultivating" double high "entrepreneurial talents" and the school motto of "honesty and diligence", and has initially built a training base for high-quality skilled talents with distinctive foreign language and foreign trade characteristics, forming the school spirit of "sunshine campus, competing for the best", the teaching style of "unity of knowledge and practice, world-class behavior" and the teaching style of "striving for ambition, ability and innovation" "Innovation" style of study. It has trained more than 40000 high-quality skilled professionals for the industry and Hunan regional economy, and enjoys the reputation of "Huangpu Military Academy" of Hunan foreign trade.

The college has been awarded one of the four bases for the cultivation of export-oriented talents in foreign economic and trade industries, including the training center for labor service personnel of Hunan Province, the training base for foreign-related talents of Hunan Province, the demonstration site for tourism education and training of Hunan Province, and the training base for business talents of new rural construction of Hunan Province.
