Chinese opera college is the highest institution of Chinese Opera Education and the founder of Chinese opera higher education system. In the field of domestic Opera Education, it has the most complete disciplines, the most perfect training system, the most concentrated excellent teachers, the most talents and the greatest social influence. As the leader and demonstrator of Chinese Opera higher education, it has supported the high-level development of Chinese opera since the founding of the people's Republic of China The basic demand for talents plays an important role in the inheritance and development of Chinese opera. In 2008, the Chinese Academy of traditional opera was elected as the first vice chairman of the board of directors of the Asia Pacific Bureau of the International Drama Academy of UNESCO.
1. Historical evolution
The college was originally under the Ministry of culture. On January 28, 1950, the opera Experimental School of the opera improvement bureau of the Ministry of culture was established and officially named as the Chinese opera school in January 1955. In November 1973, it was incorporated into the "central 5 · 7 Art University" of the Ministry of culture, and later renamed as "Opera School of the central 5 · 7 Art University". In February 1977, the establishment of Chinese opera school was officially restored. In October 1978, with the approval of the State Council, it was upgraded to China opera academy and enrolled the first undergraduate students. Since then, a new chapter of Chinese opera art education has been opened. In 2000, it was transferred to Beijing, and the state implemented the system of joint construction between the Ministry of culture and Beijing municipal government, with Beijing municipal management as the main management.
The first president was Tian Han, one of the founders of modern Chinese drama and a famous dramatist. Wang Yaoqing, Yan Yong, Xiao Changhua, Shi Ruoxu, Wang Rongzeng, Yu Lin, Zhu Wenxiang and Zhou Yude successively served as the president of the college. Famous artists Gao Shenglin, Zhao Rongchen and Zhang Junqiu successively served as the consultants of the college. At the beginning of its establishment, the school integrated the famous teachers of "fuliancheng" and a group of new cultural workers, and employed famous teachers at home and abroad, such as Xiao Changhua, Wang Yaoqing, Wang Fengqing, Shang Heyu, Tan Xiaopei, Zhang Dejun, Jin Zhongren, Bao Jixiang, Liu Xikui, Ma Decheng, etc., to teach, forming a strong teaching team.
In the process of school development, the party and the state have always regarded the Chinese opera academy as the most important base for Chinese Opera Education, and the successive central leadership groups represented by Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao have always been concerned about the development of the school. In his speech "carrying forward national culture and inspiring national spirit", Comrade Jiang Zemin stressed that "to revitalize Peking Opera and national art, we need a large number of outstanding talents who are determined to devote themselves to this cause. We should have a strategic vision and strive to cultivate talents of Peking Opera and national art in the 21st century. We should run opera and art colleges well. " In 1995, he wrote an inscription for the 45th Anniversary of the founding of our college: "virtue and art, carry on the cause and open up the future.".
2. Development status
As the only independent college in China to cultivate high-level professionals in drama art, China Academy of drama is of great significance to the inheritance of national drama art, especially the art of national drama. In recent years, under the situation that Chinese opera is not prosperous enough, the Party committee of the college takes carrying forward national culture, inheriting and developing opera art as its own responsibility, unites and leads all teachers, students and staff of the college, calmly responds to challenges, actively overcomes difficulties, deepens teaching reform, promotes career development, and makes the overall development level of the college to a new level, becoming the best one in the development history of the college It has laid a solid foundation for the comprehensive development of the college in the future.
Under the care of the party and the government, through the arduous efforts of several generations, the college has basically established a relatively complete talent training system for opera art. The college seizes the historical opportunity of the rapid development of higher education, speeds up the development of undergraduate education, actively develops postgraduate education, and steadily expands the scale of running a school. At present, the college has ten teaching departments: performance department, music department, director department, drama literature department, stage art department, new media art department, basic education department, Graduate Department, sports department and continuing education department. As of the end of December 2007, there were 2486 students in the college, including 2037 undergraduates. The moderate expansion of the college's business scale has laid a solid foundation for the coordinated development of "scale, structure, quality and efficiency" in the future.
Important progress has been made in discipline construction. Since its reform into a university in 1978, the college has continuously explored the law of training higher opera talents, continuously improved the talent training structure of opera art major, and successively set up such majors as opera performance, opera composition, opera director, opera stage design, opera screenwriter and music performance. In recent years, in order to meet the needs of society and the inherent requirements of traditional disciplines, four undergraduate majors, namely art design, recording art, animation and musicology, have been added. From two undergraduate majors in 1978, they have gradually developed to 10 undergraduate majors and 23 undergraduate majors. In 1995, with the approval of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, our college became the authorized unit of master's degree in drama and drama. In 2003, drama and drama science was designated as a key discipline in Beijing and included in the construction project of Beijing culture and art talent training base. In 2006, two new master's degree programs in art and musicology were added. After nearly 30 years of university construction, a relatively complete higher education system of drama has been basically formed.
The structure of teaching staff has been significantly improved. In view of the serious disconnection of teachers after the "Cultural Revolution", the college has paid attention to adjusting the structure of teachers and constantly improving the quality of teachers. While giving full play to the role of Li Zigui, Wang Jinlu, Wang Shixu and other famous professors, it has successively employed Cao Yu, Guo Hancheng, Ma Shaobo, Yuan Shihai, Chang Xiangyu, hongxiannu, Li Shiji and other famous experts, scholars and artists as honorary guests It has initially formed a teaching team that combines the old with the new, inside and outside the hospital, in-service and guest. In recent years, adhering to the principle of "introduction, cultivation and improvement", our hospital has successively introduced three distinguished professors, including Li Weikang, Fu Jin and Xie Bailiang. By the end of December 2007, there were 228 full-time teachers, 131 external teachers, and the student teacher ratio was 8.64:1. As of December 2007, there were 88 full-time teachers with deputy senior titles and 97 teachers with doctor's and master's degrees, Accounting for 42.5% of full-time teachers, there are 28 in-service doctors and masters. At present, the faculty structure can meet the needs of discipline construction.
Graduate education has begun to take shape. In recent years, on the basis of the original master's degree program of drama and drama, the master's degree program of musicology and art and MFA master's degree program of art have been added to graduate education, which has begun to take shape. Under the direct advocacy and concern of the central leading comrades, since September 1996, our college has successively undertaken four "graduate classes for outstanding young actors of Chinese Peking Opera" gathering the best young actors in China, opening up a new way to cultivate high-level performing talents of Chinese opera.
Remarkable achievements have been made in scientific research and creation. It is one of the fine traditions of our college to promote teaching by art practice, creation and scientific research, and it is also a feature of our talent training. In recent years, a number of scientific research and creative achievements have played a positive role in improving teachers' professional theoretical level and professional quality, enhancing students' innovative consciousness and professional ability, and improving the quality of undergraduate education. Since 2000, the Institute has applied for approval for 48 scientific research projects of various types and levels, with a total amount of 4.82 million yuan for scientific research. More than 23 new plays have been created, adapted, transplanted and put on the stage by teachers and students of the Institute. More than 122 academic works, self compiled teaching materials and creative works have been published. Among them, 12 textbooks, including drama performance, director, music, dance beauty, creation and history theory, approved by the Ministry of culture, fill the gap of long-term unsystematic textbooks for drama education, and become the preferred textbook for drama colleges in Shanghai, Shandong, Liaoning and Shanxi provinces. These achievements of scientific research and creation strongly support the construction of disciplines and specialties, and promote the improvement of undergraduate teaching level.
Conditions for running schools have been fundamentally improved. Since its establishment, China Academy of traditional Chinese opera has been located in Siyi. In the early stage, it borrowed a house to run a school in caoduo Hutong, Dongcheng, and No. 28 zhaodengyu road. Later, it moved to No. 3 campus, Liren street, Xuanwu District. After moving to the current site in 2000, the investment in teaching has increased year by year, the total amount of teaching equipment has increased by a large margin, the construction of laboratory, classroom, sports facilities, library and campus network has been strengthened, the conditions for running a school have been significantly improved, the teaching means have been constantly updated, and the information-based teaching has a certain foundation.
The campus culture is distinctive. Chinese opera is rooted in the soil of Chinese traditional culture with profound meaning. Opera Education is inseparable from the support of Chinese excellent traditional culture. Chinese young opera talents grow up healthily in the cultural environment of Chinese opera academy with Chinese style and style. The traditional Chinese opera, traditional Chinese learning and traditional Chinese art of Chinese culture complement each other. In the process of teaching, the Institute advocates teachers to quote, promote and publicize ancient Chinese literature search essence, promote the transmission and dissemination of national ideology essence, moral sentiment and cultural spirit.
