Hebei Vocational College of political science and law is the same age as the people's Republic of China and belongs to the political science and Law Committee of Hebei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China. The former Hebei Construction College was founded in July 1949. The first president was concurrently appointed by Yang Xiufeng, vice chairman of Hebei Provincial People's government. In April 1954, it was rebuilt as Hebei Provincial Political and legal cadre school. In November 1983, it was transformed into Hebei political and legal management cadre college, undertaking the adult college degree education of law major and the on-the-job training of cadres in the provincial political and legal system. In April 1998, the Department of justice of Hebei Province and the Hebei lawyers association established the Hebei law college in the college to train the practicing lawyers regularly. In April 2001, Hebei Vocational College of political science and law, the first Higher Vocational College of law in China, held higher vocational education and continued to undertake the tasks of adult diploma education, job training and Post University Continuing Education. In April 2004, Hebei forestry school was incorporated into the college.
