Maoming vocational and technical college is a University jointly built by the Department of housing and urban rural development of Guangdong Province and the people's Government of Maoming City. It was established in 2004 with the approval of the people's Government of Guangdong Province. It is the first full-time public higher vocational and technical college in Maoming City. The predecessor of the college is the state key technical secondary school, Maoming construction secondary vocational school, which was founded in 1986. At present, the school has more than 13000 full-time students, 560 full-time teachers, 130 professors, associate professors and other teachers with senior titles, 340 teachers with doctor's and master's degrees, 320 teachers with double qualification, 50 visiting professors from domestic and foreign universities, scientific research institutes and well-known enterprises, and more than 300 part-time teachers.

Graduates are welcomed by employers. The overall employment rate of all previous graduates is more than 97%, ranking in the forefront of colleges in Guangdong Province for six consecutive years. According to the employment data released by Guangdong Provincial Department of education, from 2014 to 2016, the initial employment rates of our graduates were 97.45%, 97.40% and 97.36% respectively, 2 percentage points higher than those of colleges in Guangdong Province.
