Founded in 2001, the College of information technology of Guilin University of Electronic Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as the college) is an institution of higher learning with the approval of the Ministry of education. Guilin University of Electronic Science and technology is one of the four electronic science and technology universities in China. It is a University jointly built by the Ministry of industry and information technology and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and a key university in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Our school is located in Guilin, a famous historical and cultural city and an international tourist attraction, adjacent to Huajiang campus of Guilin University of Electronic Science and technology. Relying on the discipline and professional advantages of Guilin University of Electronic Science and technology, as well as high-quality teaching and management resources, it has gradually developed into an ordinary undergraduate university with a higher level of education. At present, there are 31 undergraduate majors, which recruit full-time ordinary undergraduates from 25 provinces (cities, autonomous regions) in China, with nearly 9000 students.

School orientation. Based on Guangxi, facing the whole country, serving the economic and social development of the industry and the region, we will gradually build a high-level application-oriented Technology University with prominent advantages in Information Science, coordinated development of multi disciplines, and outstanding characteristics among similar universities in China.

Study environment. The school covers an area of nearly 1000 mu, with beautiful campus environment and complete learning and living conditions. The university has been rated as "safe and civilized campus of colleges and universities in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region", "excellent health school in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region", "advanced unit of Ideological and political education of college students in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region", "advanced unit of management and service of College Students' apartments in China". The college students' mental health education and consultation center has been rated as one of the first batch of Guangxi College Students' mental health and consultation demonstration centers. The student canteen and apartment were rated as "Guangxi University model standardized student canteen" and "Guangxi University model standardized student apartment".

Professional construction. Guided by the market demand, after years of construction, the school has formed a distinctive pattern of professional construction. Three engineering specialty groups have been constructed, including electronic information technology, computer engineering application technology, mechanical design and manufacturing and equipment. The major group of computer science and technology is the first pilot major group for the transformation and development of new undergraduate colleges in Guangxi, and the major of electronic information engineering, material forming and control engineering are the key majors of private colleges in Guangxi. The major of material forming and control engineering has been awarded the project of characteristic specialty and curriculum integration construction in Guangxi Colleges and universities. The mechanical manufacturing engineering training center was rated as the autonomous region experimental teaching demonstration construction center, and the engineering and technical talents practice education base was rated as the autonomous region college students' off campus practice education base. It has joined the National Union of Applied Technology Universities (colleges) to further boost the process of building a high-level applied technology university with remarkable characteristics.

Personnel training. The school adheres to the fundamental task of "cultivating morality and talents", adheres to the school running concept of "educating people first and establishing school with quality", and is committed to cultivating high-level applied talents with innovative spirit and practical ability. Constantly strengthen the comprehensive reform of education and teaching, the quality of applied talents training is excellent. We continuously deepen the integration of industry and education, promote school enterprise cooperation, cultivate "knowledge and practice culture", and build a collaborative education mechanism between schools, industries and enterprises. It has set up six innovation practice bases for college students in different disciplines, including electronics, computer, mechatronics, communication, design and management, one innovation and Entrepreneurship Center for college students and one love teahouse for college students. Since 2010, students have won more than 500 national awards and more than 1000 regional awards in extracurricular academic and technological works competitions. Graduates are well received by employers, and the employment rate of the school over the years is more than 93%. The university has been rated as "the advanced collective of college graduates' employment in the whole region" by the Education Department of the autonomous region for five times.

It has signed cooperation agreements with universities in the UK, the US, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan and other countries or regions. In order to encourage students with excellent character and learning and establish a good style of study, the university has set up various kinds of scholarships, including 10000 yuan / year for special scholarships, 6000 yuan / year, 3000 yuan / year and 1500 yuan / year for first, second and third class scholarships, 8000 yuan / year for national scholarships, 5000 yuan / year for national inspirational scholarships, and 5000 yuan / year for the people's Government of the autonomous region.
