Tianping College of Suzhou University of science and technology is a four-year full-time university approved by the Ministry of education. The college is located in the western part of the ancient city of Suzhou, the National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. It is one of the earliest independent colleges in Jiangsu Province.

Suzhou Institute of science and technology was established in September 2001 by the merger of the former Suzhou Institute of urban construction and environmental protection and Suzhou railway Normal University.
