Shandong University of Finance and economics is a University jointly built by the Ministry of finance, the Ministry of education and Shandong Province. The school was established on July 4, 2011 by the merger of the former Shandong University of economics and the former Shandong University of finance, and officially opened on June 9, 2012. It was formed by the merger of Shandong accounting college and the Department of economics of Qilu University. It is the earliest finance and Economics College in Shandong Province and one of the earliest finance and Economics Colleges in China. During the cultural revolution, Shandong University of Finance and economics stopped running. In 1978, with the approval of the State Council, the school was resumed and renamed as Shandong University of economics. In 1993, he was authorized to confer master's degree. Shandong University of finance, founded in 1986, is an ordinary college of Finance and economics jointly established by the Ministry of Finance and the people's Government of Shandong Province. At the beginning of the school, the Ministry and the province jointly built the leading management system with the Ministry as the main body. In 1998, he was authorized to confer master's degree. After 2000, the school's leadership and management system has been changed into a leadership and management system jointly built by the central and local governments and dominated by local management. On August 23, 2012, the Ministry of finance, the Ministry of education and the people's Government of Shandong Province signed an agreement in Jinan to jointly build Shandong University of Finance and economics. The school has five campuses in Shungeng, Yanshan, Shengjing, Mingshui and Laiwu, covering an area of nearly 5000 mu. In April 2016, the school decided to build Shengjing campus as the main campus through space expansion, planning adjustment and function improvement. The construction started in March 2017, and the first phase project of the main campus is planned to be completed in May 2018 to ensure the admission of 2018 freshmen. The school has perfect modern teaching infrastructure and experimental equipment. There are 145 laboratories and 140 practice teaching bases. At present, there are 1 national experimental teaching demonstration center, 3 provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers in Shandong Province, and 26 key subject teaching experimental centers in Colleges and universities in Shandong Province. The total building area of the school is 1.192 million square meters, and the total value of teaching and scientific research equipment is 230 million yuan. The library (excluding Laiwu campus) has a collection of 2.5204 million books, 9.028 million e-books and 362 databases, realizing the sharing of book resources with provincial and municipal libraries. It has a modern Studio Center, CATV teaching system and Gigabit Ethernet campus network system. The school has two independent colleges Yanshan college and Oriental College, with a total number of 13800 students. The school vigorously carries out continuing education, with more than 10000 adult students. Subject school is the largest finance and economics university in China, with more than 33000 full-time undergraduates and postgraduates. There are 23 teaching colleges (departments) and 61 undergraduate majors. It has three first-class disciplines of Applied Economics, business administration, management science and engineering, 10 first-class disciplines of master's degree, and 14 professional degrees of master of Business Administration (MBA) and master of Public Administration (MPA). In 2016, applied economics, management science and engineering were selected as the first-class disciplines in Shandong Province; at the same time, the University determined 19 first-class disciplines at the university level to set up construction disciplines. Information management and information system and finance were selected as high-level application-oriented major groups in Shandong Province; accounting major group, international business major group, computer science and technology major group, mathematics and applied mathematics major group and administrative management major group were approved as high-level application-oriented major groups in Shandong Province. The school has a high level of teaching staff. At present, there are 1865 full-time teachers, including 989 professors and associate professors, 1606 with master's degree or above, and 687 with doctor's degree.
