Sichuan communications vocational and technical college is a public full-time ordinary university, which is subordinate to the Department of transportation of Sichuan Province. It was founded in 1952. The college is a National Model Higher Vocational College, a high-end technical and skilled undergraduate pilot college in Sichuan Province, the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot units in China, a national vocational college employment competitiveness demonstration school, a national advanced vocational education unit, and a national civilized unit.

The college covers an area of 1033 Mu and has more than 13000 full-time students. There are 12 teaching departments including road and Bridge Engineering Department, automobile engineering department, transportation engineering department, shipping engineering department, information engineering department, construction engineering department, mechanical and electrical engineering department, economic management department, humanities and Arts Department, rail transit engineering department, public course teaching department and ideological and Political Theory Course Teaching Department. There are 2 undergraduate majors and 35 specialized majors, including 6 key construction majors of central finance, 2 National Transportation demonstration sites and 10 provincial finance key majors. There are 3 national, provincial and ministerial training bases, 5 productive training bases, nearly 190000 square meters of campus training area, and more than 200 off campus training bases.
