[plant morphology] yeqingshu
Erect shrubs or subshrubs, 1-1.5m high. Stem angular, slightly branched, appressed pubescent. Pinnate compound leaf, 5-10 cm long, with 7-15 leaflets, opposite leaflets, oblong, oblanceolate or obovate, 1-2.5 cm long. Apex rectangular acute, glabrous or slightly sparsely glabrous above, grayish white and closely pilose below; stipules conical. Racemes axillary, 2-3 cm long; petioles very short and recurved; calyx campanulate, pubescent, 5-toothed, teeth intercalated and short, ca. as long as calyx tube: corolla butterfly, red, ca. 5 mm long; stamens 10, 2 bundles; style short, stigma capitate. The pods are cylindrical, pendulous, curved like sickle, brownish red, 1-1.5 cm long, pubescent, with 6-8 seeds. It blooms in spring.
Born in the wild. Distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Fujian, Taiwan and other places.
