Scissor strand
Herbs perennial, glabrous, stoloniferous. The stem is erect, 10-30 cm high, slightly milky white. The basal leaves are arranged in rosette shape, thin, oblong lanceolate or obovate, or labyrinth elliptic, 5-15 cm long and 1.5-3 cm wide, entire or sparsely serrated or feathery at the lower part; petiolate; few leaves on the flower stem, only 1-2, entire; sessile. There are 1-5 heads arranged in corymbose shape; involucre is cylindrical, glabrous, outer bracts are very short, inner bracts are linear lanceolate, apex blunt, margin dry membranous; flower yellow, corolla ligulate, apex 5-toothed; stamen 5-toothed; anther yellow; ovary inferior, style slender, stigma 2-lobed, yellow, curly after anthesis. Achene oblong, flat, with short beak, reddish brown when mature; corolla white, soft. The flowering period is from April to May.
Born on the seashore, roadside and wasteland. It is distributed in East China and Central South China.
