(Honghe Chinese herbal medicine)

[source] is the phloem of Wutong root.

[plant morphology] red fire rope, also known as fire rope tree, fire rope tree.

Deciduous shrub or small tree, 3-5M high. Leaves alternate, broadly ovate to round, 8-15 cm long and 6-12 cm wide, apex acuminate or obtuse, base cordate, margin irregularly serrate, 5-9 main veins distinct, above green, stellate pilose, below gray white, densely gray yellow stellate pilose; petiole 2-7 cm long. Axillary cymose panicle, yellow white flowers; bracteoles 3-5; sepals 5: petals 5; stamens numerous: ovary sessile, densely pubescent. Capsule ovoid conic, woody, about 3 cm long, 6-8-ribbed, 6-8-lobed after ripening.

It grows in the open forest in the hot and dry valley. It is distributed in Yunnan and Guizhou.

[selection] ① treatment of traumatic bleeding: Jiegudan, grind the end, sprinkle (pressure).

② Treatment of burns: Jiegudan 2 liang, Vaseline 1 jin. Cool slightly after boiling, add 2% eucalyptus oil and stir well. Use it externally.

③ Treatment of chronic gastritis, gastric ulcer: dry Jiegudan three to five money, decoction.
