Perennial herbs. Stem fleshy, about 30 cm high, square, reddish, nodose, densely short hairy. Leaves opposite, triangular ovate, margin with cyan or yellowish teeth, base truncate, upper middle dark red or yellowish, pubescent; petiole 1.5-4 cm long, pale red, densely pubescent. Raceme terminal, flowers bluish purple or whitish; calyx campanulate 5-lobed; corolla lip shaped; stamens 4,2-strong, filament base connected into tube; pistil stigma 2-lobed. Nutlets are smooth.

They are grown in valleys, fields, or for cultivation. It is distributed in Guangxi, Guangdong and Fujian.
