Tussah leaves

[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoct soup, 1-3 yuan; or grind powder. External use: tamping.

[clinical application] ① treatment of acute bacillary dysentery
The leaves of tussah were made into 50% decoction, 100ml each time, 3 times a day, 7-10 days as a course of treatment. It can be taken for two courses. Also can use 25% Decoction 100 ml line retention enema, every night before going to bed 1 time. 181 cases were observed. The cure rate of one course was 69-74.7%, and the cumulative cure rate of one and two courses was more than 85%. According to the observation and statistics of 100 cases, the fever subsided in an average of 2.1 days, abdominal pain and diarrhea disappeared in an average of 3.4 days and 3.5 days, and the time for stool frequency and character to return to normal was 4.1 days and 4.4 days respectively. Among 36 cases with positive stool culture, 20 cases turned negative within 3 days, and the rest turned negative on the 6th day. One month later, 23 cases were followed up and 3 cases recurred. There was no toxic reaction and side effect in the course of treatment. In the observation, the sulfamidine treatment group was used as the control group, and the results showed that the curative effect of oak leaf group was better.
② Treatment of dyspepsia in children
The leaves of tussah were picked from June to August, dried in the shade and ground into a very fine powder, then scorched with slow fire for oral administration. 0.5g within one year old, 0.75-1g above one year old, 3-4 times a day. 100 cases of toxic dyspepsia in children were treated, 97 cases were cured, 3 cases were invalid (all with malnutrition). The shortest course of treatment was 1 day and the longest was 10 days, 38% of which were cured within 1-3 days and 39% within 4-5 days. There was no adverse reaction.
