[plant morphology] Hemerocallis officinalis
Creeping, perennial herbs, or upper part of stem raised, more or less hairy, rooting on nodes. The leaf is herbaceous; elliptic ovate, 3-7 cm long, 1.5-4 cm wide, apex obtuse or short pointed, base sharply contracted into a broad stalk, sheath and petiole covered with sparse hairs. Foyan felt is opposite to the upper leaves, or 2-4 aggregated, with very short stalks, funnel-shaped and compressed, about 8-14 mm long and wide, light green, sparsely hairy; flowers blue, several in each felt; sepals 3, membranous; petals 3, 3-4 mm long. Capsule membranous, 4-5 mm long, 5 seeds, rough. The flowering period is summer and autumn.
It grows in shady wetland or under forest. It is distributed in East China and south of the Yangtze River Basin.
