[animal morphology] Apis cerana, also known as fan (Book of rites) and wax bee (compendium).

There are three species: female, worker and male. The worker bee is small in shape, dark brown in body, with dense grayish yellow hairs on the head, chest and back. The head is slightly triangular, with 1 pair of compound eyes and 3 single eyes; 1 pair of antennae, geniculate; mouth developed, suitable for chewing and sucking. The thorax is 3, the midrib is the largest; wings are 2 pairs, membranous transparent, hind wing midrib bifurcated. There are 9 pairs of feet, and there are pollen collecting structures at the femoral, tibial and tarsal joints. The abdomen is conical, the back is yellowish brown, 1-4 segments have black ring, the end is sharp, toxic gland and sting; there are 4 pairs of wax plates under the abdomen, there are wax glands inside, secreting wax. The female bee, commonly known as queen bee, has the largest body, short wings and long abdomen. The genitals are well developed. The male wasp is slightly larger than the worker wasp, the head is spherical, the compound eye is large, the tail is round, non-toxic gland and sting. The mouthparts of female and male wasps were degenerated, and there was no pollen collecting and storing structure on their feet, no wax plate and gland under their abdomen.

Honeybee is an insect that lives in a colony. Each colony consists of one female, hundreds of drones and tens of thousands of worker bees.
