[pharmacological action] ① anti inflammatory effect
After oral administration of Panax notoginseng (the decoction with Panax notoginseng as the main component) 10 g / kg for 3 times in 1-3 days, the arthritis induced by egg white, formaldehyde or dextran was significantly inhibited, and the formation of inflammatory granuloma caused by subcutaneous embedding of cotton ball and the formaldehyde arthritis of adrenalectomized rats were also significantly inhibited.
② The effect on the function of adrenal cortex
Taking Sanqi (10 g / kg / D) orally for 7 days or only for 1 day did not reduce the content of vitamin C in adrenal gland, but significantly inhibited the decrease of vitamin C content in adrenal gland caused by non-specific stimulation (swimming). After repeated administration of 10 g / kg of Panax notoginseng, the accumulation of liver glycogen in normal or adrenalectomized mice was significantly promoted, but not in a certain amount of glucose. The survival time of adrenalectomized young rats can be prolonged by oral administration of Panax notoginseng 10 g / kg / day. The excretion of 17 ketosterol in urine of guinea pigs was not significantly affected by oral administration of 10 g / kg / D for 5 days. In conclusion, "Sanqi" does not have the function of stimulating pituitary adrenal cortex, but seems to have the effect of suprarenal corticosteroids.
