[plant morphology] Eupatorium uncinatum
Perennial herbs, 15-30 cm high. The roots are slender, bearded and numerous. Leaves basal, elliptic ovate to long elliptic lanceolate, 5-12 cm long and 2-4 cm wide, base truncated, decurrent, margin microwavy, green on top and densely covered with gray woolly on bottom; petiole 2-6 cm long. The stem is drawn from the base. Inflorescence solitary at the top; involucral bracts imbricate, multiline, outer bracts subulate, gradually lanceolate inward, hairy; flowers white to pink, then reddish purple, ligulate female, tubular flowers bisexual, apex 5-toothed, slightly 2-lipped. Achene beaked, crown bristly. The flowering period is from February to April.
It grows on hillside, forest edge and grass.

[flavor] pungent, slightly bitter, flat.
Functions and indications: clearing away heat and dampness, regulating qi and resolving phlegm, accumulating and killing insects. For dysentery, stomachache, cold, cough, asthma, phlegm, dyspepsia, Ascaris, tonsillitis, external use can stop bleeding.
[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction. 5-1 Liang. External use: grind and sprinkle.
