Perennial herbs, 0.8-1.5 m high. Rhizome transverse. Stem erect, rounded. Leaf blade broadly lanceolate or oblong, 10-15 cm long and 2-3 cm wide, apex acuminate, base cuneate, margin serrate. Panicle raceme, caudate; flowers small, tubular, lavender or purplish blue; stamens 2. Capsule ovoid conic, with furrows on both sides.
Born in forest, wet grassland, gully and other places. Distribution of northeast, North China, northwest and other places.
