[plant morphology] Sophora japonica
Shrubs, 50-150 cm high, yellowish green; twigs covered with flat pubescence. The leaflets are 15-19, the rachis and abaxial surface of the leaflets are covered with flat yellow gray short hairs; the leaflets are elliptic and nearly leathery; the apical leaves are the largest, 1.5-4 cm long and 6-10 mm wide, with blunt apex and cuneate base. Racemes terminal, with short pedicels; pedicels densely sericeous, shorter than calyx densely sericeous; flowers white. The pod is about 7-11 cm long. There are 5-6 seeds.
