Perennial herbs, 60-100 cm high. The fibrous roots are clustered and slender. The basal leaves are oblate, 12-25 cm wide, apex concave, base heart-shaped, margin with coarse teeth of different sizes; the petiole is 10-25 cm long, and the lower part is sheath like; the upper part of the stem has smaller leaves. Inflorescences numerous, integrated into a large cymose corymb; involucral bracts 1-row, 2-shaped, with a narrower outer covering a wider inner margin; disk flowers bisexual, all tubular flowers, yellow, with 6 involute lobes. Achenes obconic, corollate.
It was born in the wet and shady place by the mountain valley. Distributed in Shaanxi, Gansu, Sichuan and other places.

Functions and indications: relieving cough, resolving phlegm and dispelling wind. Treatment of tuberculosis, cold cough.
[usage and dosage] oral: decoction, 2-3 yuan.
[prescription selection] to treat pulmonary tuberculosis: take 5ml each time, three times a day.
