Herbs Biennial. The stem is erect, about 1 meter high, with long red hairs at the base. Leaves alternate, petiolate in the lower part of stem, nearly sessile in the upper part; leaves elliptic lanceolate, 6-9 cm long, 1.5-3 cm wide, apex short pointed, base cuneate, margin sparsely serrate, both sides covered with white pilose. Flowers solitary in the axils of branches, arranged in sparse spikes; calyx tube slender, apex 4-lobed, lobes lanceolate, reflexed; petals 4-yellow, obovate or obcordate; stigma 4-lobed. Capsule cylindric, apex narrow, covered with long white hairs. The flowering period is from July to August.
Most of them are cultivated in gardens.

Functions and indications: strengthening tendons and bones, dispelling wind and removing dampness.
