Annual herbs. Stems weak, prostrate, branched, up to 30 cm long. Single leaf opposite, obovate oblong, 1.8-4 cm long, apex obtuse, base gradually narrowed into petiole, edge with sharp serrate. Raceme terminal, florets petiolate; sepals 5, green, lobes linear lanceolate, ca. 6 mm; corolla purple, base tubular, front 2-lipped, ca. 13 mm, upper lip broad, concave, 2-lobed, lower lip extended, 3-lobed; stamens 2-developed, staminodes 2-glandular; stigma 2-lobed. Capsule cylindrical, 1.5-2 cm long. The flowering period is June.
It is found in wetlands and paddy fields. It is distributed in southwest and Guangdong.
