Perennial herbs, 30-60 cm high. The fibrous roots are tufted and fleshy, and red juice flows out after breaking. Stem erect, cylindrical, greenish red. Single leaf opposite, ovate or ovate lanceolate, 3.5-7 cm long, 1-3.5 cm wide, apex long acuminate, base cuneate, covered with white hairs, margin serrate, 3-veined. Inflorescence terminal or axillary, margin flower female, corolla ligulate yellow, central tubular flower bisexual. Achenes oblong.

It grows in shrubs on limestone slopes. It is distributed in Yunnan and other places.
