Perennial herbs. Rhizome transverse, hard, dark brown. Stem erect, hollow, glabrous, 55-150 cm high. The lower stem leaf is pentagonal, 6.5-10 cm long, 12-20 cm wide, 3-lobed, sparsely pubescent on both sides; petiole is about 15 cm long. Panicle terminal, sparse, inflorescence axis and pedicel glabrous; bracteoles subulate; sepals bluish purple, ovate or elliptic, outside sparsely short hairy: petals 2, bluish purple, reflexed; staminodes clawed, petals 2-lobed. It has a yellow beard. Stamens numerous; carpels 3, glabrous. Follicles 3, oblong.
It grows in the grass on the hillside. Distributed in Gansu, Shaanxi, Henan, Shanxi and other places.

Function indications: promoting blood circulation and relieving pain. Treat headache, low back pain, abdominal pain and strain.
