Pregnancy of cardiac pods

Shrub, 3-4 m high. The leaf blade is ovoid, 6-18 cm long, 5-16 cm wide, apex acuminate, base heart-shaped or round, margin serrate, dark green glabrous above, white villi below, lateral veins 8-10 on each side, concave above, convex below; petiole 2.5-6.5 cm long. Umbelliform cyme, terminal, flowers small and dense, marginal flowers all developed; bracts linear oblong, 0.5 cm long; calyx tube nearly smooth, lobes lanceolate, stellate hair; stamens long for most of corolla. Drupe red, long elliptic, nucleus flat, with a very deep ventral groove.

It grows in the edge of forest, in miscellaneous forest and in shrub. It is distributed in Sichuan, Yunnan and Tibet.

[collection] it can be harvested all year round, fresh or sun dried.

[taste] wet, warm.

[Guijing] into the liver meridian.

[function indications] it is used to treat rheumatism, numbness, muscle and bone pain, falling damage, blood stasis and swelling of the waist and flank.

[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoct soup, 5-7 yuan; or soak in wine.

[selected prescription] treatment of rheumatism, muscle and bone pain: heart leaf pod pregnancy with Acanthopanax senticosus skin; epimedium, pinellia, Gentiana, wine service.
