Perennial herbs. The tuberous root is plump, oblong, white and fibrous. Stems 1-2, oblique or climbing, all densely white pilose. Leaves opposite, petiolate, ovate, 1.8-2.5 cm long when young, apex obtuse, base rounded, entire, dark green above and gray white below. Flowers solitary, corolla campanulate, 5-lobed; stamens 6. Capsule septate between sepals.
Mostly at the foot of high hillside.
