[plant morphology] Gypsophila angustifolia
Creeping herbs, stem thin, about 50 cm long. Single leaf opposite; ovate lanceolate, 2-5 cm long, 0.6-1.8 cm wide, 3-veined from base, entire or locally tortuous; stipitate. Peanut, yellow green in leaf axils; corolla elongated, tubular campanulate, lobes 5, short; stamens 5, inserted in the middle of corolla tube, filaments flat; ovary stipitate, 1-locular; disk small, 5-toothed; style linear, stigma 2. Capsule. The seeds are numerous.
Born in the shade of mountain trees.
