Perennial herbs. Leaves basal, petiole 7-12 cm long, purple; leaves broad lanceolate to oblong, 7-17 cm long, 3.5-8 cm wide, apex caudal, base cuneate and slightly elongated, margin sparsely toothed, tooth tip into a small pointed protuberance; dark green above, sometimes purple brown after drying, light below; micro leathery; petiole base of young and old leaves covered with brown long hairy antler. Flower stem white, base straight out, about 30 cm high; head small, arranged in panicles; involucral bracts several, membranous, lanceolate, 3-7 mm long, 2 mm wide; all tubular flowers, apex 5-lobed. Achene, fusiform, ca. 3 mm long, many ridges and hairy; corolla yellow. It blooms in summer.
They live in the mountains. It is distributed in Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou.
